Beautiful trail...great place for beginners to experience hiking.

This is a good Loop for beginning hiker.

I’m a new hiker and not in the best shape so I was hoping for a bit more signage or clearly marked trails. A friend and I took large paths and as we were walking and taking turns the trail would eventually disappear or lead to fenced off areas. We had to turn around and loop back a few times. I’ve never found a super well cleared trail down to the beach only some cinderblock stairs that lead to the back of the parking lot. The beach has great views and you can have a lot of fun after a light walk.

Smells like a dirty bathroom. Not a pleasant or safe place to be. Watch out for the human feces. I would rate it a zero if possible.

it's what you'd expect of an urban trail.. lots of people, especially bicyclists, but the trail is quite wide, features a nice view of the bridge and the water and Gas Works Park is a neat park all on its own, featuring views of the Seattle skyline and is a great place to end.

I took away a star because the bathroom stalls aren’t big enough to push a stroller into and there’s no changing tables. But this park is beautiful, I love the coast and environment. We’ll definitely be going back.

Beautiful - lots of trails!

Awesome, took the trail from Bothell to Matthews park. Very nice ride, beautiful views of the water from the trail and parks along the way.

Beautiful scenery/views!

Nice hike on 4th of July

Beautiful

It’s more like a garden walk then a hike. It was nice and low key to just get out of the house.

great walk/hike in the city.

Not bad for a city park. Lighthouse was kind of pitiful

Great experience with my 3 yr old girl. Beautiful trees along the way and breathtaking lake view at the beginning and end of the trail. Perfect for family activity.

Too muddy in some area. Walking through swamps is fine but for biking? No. Maybe in summer it will be better because the trail would be drier. Other than that, it has great lake view. I will come back again if it’s not so muddy.

Offering different scenes and some elevation in one long enough walk - the part from North Beach to South Beach trails goes through beach, paths with steps under tall shaded trees with beautiful views to the Olympic and Rainier. Make sure to see historic buildings and take some small allowed turns as they could lead to the beach or smaller paths closer to the water. But be careful not to go too close to the edge at some parts as it’s soft. Great for all ages, right in the city. Some busy paths are quite dusty. Could they warm up the water?!

Easy hike inside the city with great beach and mountain views.

Awesome trail!

This loop was rather easy to traverse. I needed to clear my mind and close my Move ring on my Apple Watch so I hit this trail. It helped me achieve both. Also, you never tire of looking at the beauty of Lake Washington and the verdant hills laced with homes that rise from its shores.

Easy, great people watching and beautiful for sunsets, meeting friends and an easy place to get a little space in the big city

Awesome hike. Not too strenuous or challenging, restrooms were hard to find. AMAZING this is inside the city.

Liked it a lot despite bad weather. Not a super thrilling trail trail but changing surroundings and in general really nice route with nice forest and a some beach views. No special hiking equipment required.

This was a beautiful, scenic muddy disaster. Come prepared to slog through some deep mud. We weren’t. The end result is my wife and my dog and I were covered in mud. He thought that was great. Us not so much.

I have walked around GL for over 30 years (doing it this morning at 76). While the natural scene is great - birds of many feathers, raccoons, trees, it’s the people watching that provides the most most variety! You can get a “peak” of Mount Rainier, see it freeze, or walk around at night with Luminarias to guide you.

I run here almost everyday. It’s an easy 2.8 mile loop with nice, changeable scenery. The people-watching is pretty great, and there’s plenty of wildlife for such an urban setting - I’ve seen bald eagles and other birds of prey, in addition to the ducks and geese (now with their little broods since it’s Spring!). If you’re in Seattle and need a nice running route, this is it.

easy trail...some steep steps but enjoyed time in the beach!

Well maintained trail and provides some amazing views of downtown Seattle, the olympics, and more.

The waterfront along Lake Union is beautiful. There is a museum and paddle sports rentals and multiple eateries to check out. It is great for a Sunday stroll.

The lake is very serene and the multitude of bird species are quite used to all the human foot traffic. It is paved and a great place for a walk, bike ride, stroller or jog.
