Absolutely beautiful trail. Family friendly, all the walkers and runners were super friendly and kind when passing one another. Beach was clean and plenty of space for distancing. Bathrooms were clean, picnic areas were clean. Even the grills were clean for sure. Definitely going back

A seattle favorite, heavily treed, creeks, some homeless camps dampen the experience though

Beautiful trail. A ton of green cover helped us stay dry on a wet rainy day. Never overly busy.

I love this hidden gem. Every season brings new things to look at. Gets muddy easily because many springs cross the trails. Highly recommend.

Ran this trail yesterday 5.24.20. It was a beautiful day. The trail is well maintained. Although Camp Long facility is currently closed, the trail is open to the public since the gate is still open. It is so nice running along all the obstacle courses that someday I wish to have the opportunity to join. Very blessed the trail is so close to my house and not so far out from the city.

Beautiful trail and views! Slightly muddy at this time.

Beautiful but crowded

Ran this trail 2 days ago on 5.23.20. The park is so beautiful with the playground (currently closed for the pandemic situation), a super wide/spacious area with Seattle skyscraper views compatible for both biking and running, a dog park and of course the trails packed with the green of nature. I feel like this is such a hidden gem. Will come back to play the with the Zip lines at the playground when the health crisis is over.

A great hike/walk. A little muddy in spots, only made difficult when strollers and tots on bikes try to use the trails. Physical distancing can be difficult in many spots especially with the increasing volume. I changed course from the lighthouse loop to the main loop (~3 miles) because of the volume of people. Still, a great trail with lots to see and you occasionally forget you’re still in the city, even if only for a moment or two.

on the south side of the capitol hill hump, and quite worth the extra step. First impression is: What a Marvel. Second impression: let's wait until the pandemic is over; I suspect it gets crowded.

Make your own loop.

Flowers going off rn

This is my favorite Seattle Park. The views of the Sound and the Olympics are awesome! I absolutely love this Trail. I do a figure 8 loop to make it 8 miles. I’ll start off running then when I get tired I’ll continue walking.

High traffic walking/running trail. Good for exercise and casual walks. I reserve higher rating for trails with views and good natural environments.

About once a week, I hike this trail to train for longer and steeper trails, e.g., Mailbox. I usually do it mid week because it is relatively shorter length. It always reminds me what a workout it is to be on this trail. Every time, seem to forget once I am done. Today I went up in about one hour and fifteen minutes. On my way up, I tried to figure out a pace at which I could go steady. That was kind of fun. Some people on this trail seem regulars. They go up and come down very speedily. People practiced social distancing. It has made hiking this trail even nicer.

Poorly marked went into the road

Was intending to only go on this 0.6 mile hike in the Schmitz Park Preserve but it took me >1.3 miles to find the “trailhead”/gate of the park. Never thought Apple Map would disappoint me but it did today. Google Map came to the rescue thankfully! But anyways, it was a very nice jog around the very rich-looking neighborhood near Alki beach (i.e. some gorgeous flowers turned my head literally) before I actually did the hike in the park. It was raining so the ground was muddy at some parts in the park. I did my best to accelerate when I could. Very proud I didnt fall on my butt at least once though because the muddy parts were really slippery. (The fact that my shoes didnt have good grips didnt really help either.) Yet overall, a very nice short walk with elevation.

My wife and I just moved to Seattle and we have chosen this trail as our first ever trail. We have no previous hiking experience and I can say that we really enjoyed this walk! The weather was great and the park is so beautiful that we completed the trail refreshed and ready to another week. We will definitely come back to complete the lighthouse trail.

An excellent urban hike. I did this as part of a loop where I started and finished at West Seattle Junction. I added the Longfellow Creek Trail system as well as the Pond Park up the hill on Juneau. It all made for a good half day of hiking.

Great trail - loop around the lake. Trail is closed for bike riding even though there was a lot of people riding their bikes anyways. Everyone was pretty spaced out keeping their distance, the parking lot is closed so you’ll have to find parking on the street outside. Overall great area for a walk/jog.

Nice paved trail. For pedestrians only, one way loop to help with social distancing.

Nice short hike/walk. Trail was a little bit overgrown with nettles in a couple spots but not too bad - I was glad to have pants and a coat for those areas though. Not muddy. Very low traffic.

Nice trail. We did half trail and half paved road. Small creek going through. My 2-year-old loved the wildflowers along the road. Lots of mosquitos. Narrow in some places. The beach was gorgeous but absolutely crazy on Mother’s Day.
