Really nice trail- found it wasn’t too muddy compared to most other trails right now, though there were a few muddy spots. Went early (around 7:30 am) on a Friday and only ran into a few people. Took my dog and she also enjoyed this hike!

Simple trail with enough to keep the 4 year old and 13 year old interested. Was a bit damp today, lots of mud and slugs. The falls were full and pleasant due to recent rains, not overcrowded, we were out in the morning and had a snack on a bench in the meadow project at the end of the trail before returning.

Great Trail! Plan for mud and slippery in places. Be aware of where you park. There are multiple trails intertwined in the park. Beautiful scenery and would call this an easy hike.

The mud wasn't TOO bad, but definitely bring your waterproof hiking shoes. It would have soaked through a normal sneaker. The trail is pretty mild except for a steep climb up the mountain at the very end. We only saw one other group very briefly at the peak, so this is perfect during COVID-19. Ignore the signage completely, as you'll be leaving McGarvey Trail West fairly quickly after you start this hike. Just follow the GPS and you'll be fine. You can park right at the trailhead, ignore the yellow plastic "no parking" sandwich boards, those were just put there by a disgruntled homeowner and have no legal weight.

Great hike, lots of vegetation and occasional streams of running water accessible for the dogs to drink from. There is a lot of elevation gain. It wasn’t too crowded until we got to the path out to Debbie’s View - that was both the muddiest part of the trail and the part of the trail with the most people. Although the view is beautiful and it is a nice destination point, I would probably skip that part of the trail and continue on the loop if I were to do the hike again. I would recommend this hike to friends.

Went in late May after a rainy week and there was mud, but not too much and you could usually navigate around it. There is a gorgeous grove of ferns in this trail that I love to see. Not too much traffic, and easy to connect to from the Coal Creek Trail for a longer hike. It’s a shame you can’t get up to the Newcastle golf club for that spectacular view, but that’s a nice place to go after your hike for a beer on the deck, when it’s open (not open due to COVID closures now). The dogs had a blast, too!

Trail was slightly muddy in spots. Slow going for us due to pulling puppy, lots of pictures, and stopping for people to distance passing. Waterfall was pretty, but hard when someone was having a meditation/dancing session in everyone picture of the waterfall. So that wasn’t ideal. Wasn’t busy when we started at 8:30, but when we were done at 10am it was a full parking lot and trail was busy. Minimal bugs.

Park at the lot and cross the road. It’s very muddy so wearing hiking boots and bring a change of shoes for afterwards. Kid friendly. Most of the trail is wide so it’s easier to keep distance when passing people.

Great easy to moderate hike. Only challenging part was approaching the summit of Mt Cedar. Otherwise, the hike did not include much elevation gain. Although the trails were near residential areas, you felt like you were deep in the woods. Only saw a few people on the trail.

Open and not too muddy! saw like 5 people in total on the whole trail! def. recommend for quarantine!

Very little foot traffic, confusing trails signs lead us off the path for a bit but we got back to where we needed to be. It dumped rain in the beginning of the hike, leaving puddles on the narrow trail that were difficult to navigate around. Very slippery if one does not have shoes with good traction. Overall, beautiful forest views, easy/moderate the first two thirds up, steep incline the last third up that was moderate/hard which lead to the top! Easy on the way back down.

Pretty easy hike. Passed two people the whole hike. Extremely muddy, slipped a few times. Got prwtty difficult towards the end but only for a short distance. Great overall.

Made the mistake of coming out here two months ago on a sunny weekend right before the stay-home order went into effect. Waaaaay too crowded. There wasn't a single stretch of trail where there weren't other people, and folks were surprisingly rude as far as hikers go. Might do this again on a rainy weekday because it's a pretty trail, but never again on a nice weather weekend.

Great trail, a little muddy but nothing you can't get around. Gradual incline/decline until you get to the end and then it's pretty steep, but only for a short bit. Lots of snails, salmon berries, and greenery. Pretty forest hike. My GPS had it at 5 miles altogether.

Nice day walking trail with a few interesting things to look at along the way. Also great for running with slight inclines and declines.

Great kid friendly hike! parking lot was almost full when we got there at 10am on a Monday, but since there are so many trail options we didnt see too many on our route. Trail has a slight consistent incline for the first half mile or so but totally doable for my 4 and 8 year olds. The kids had fun exploring the waterfall (go in spring or after heavy rainfall, I have heard the falls dry up in summer and droughts) plenty of little spots for a snack and a water break.

This hike was amazing! We really loved it! Two really cute little waterfalls and the dog loved splashing in a little. Saw lots of wild life(deers and birds and snails) no bears although there is a warning for them. So many cool trees and tree growth patterns for photographers. We both like to take photos so it was fun to do it :) it’s pretty muddy but worth the mud’ Although a little confusing with parking lot. The actual trail for this isn’t in the parking lot where there are some other trails it’s across the road. Be careful crossing though cars come zooming around the corner.

Not closed- Great hike, slightly muddy. Traffic was not high but ran across a few groups of people. Everyone put their masks on when passing and step aside to try a distance from each other. Great view at the top.
