Beautiful. Highly recommend. I also recommend starting 9am or earlier as the trail seemed to get very busy around 10 on a weekday. Luckily we we're heading down when the trail became congested but the solitude on the trail in the early morning made the experience that much better. We saw a few marmots, deer, and chipmunks along the way. Someone on the way down informed us to spread the word to keep your packs on your backs because the marmots know the humans have food and will go for your packs if they are put on the ground.

Favorite views consisted of the lake through the trees at the beginning of the trail and the amazingly large trees that we saw throughout the trail. There were many great items to view along the way to the falls.

Some steep switch backs and slide area that needs to be crossed. But good hike and well maintained trails, beside the slide area.

This was an amazing hike. Pretty steep incline on some parts. The view at the top of the ridge was spectacular!!

Steep but the view was worth it! Love the ropes and cliffs near the top

After doing this hike from the bottom many times have never gotten up much further than the 9th bridge due to time and or snow, ice conditions. This time made it quite a way up but was thwarted due to trail simply disappearing in a boggy area where several rivers meet. For the last half mile I went the trail was barely discernable but tracked with my GPS. However it simply stopped in a area of very dense brush, mud and difficult stream crossing. We still had about a 1000' of gain to make but could clearly see much of it would be bushwacking. So glad I did not do this as a key swap. Next time, will start at the upper and see if it's clearer from other side. either way this section will always be a monster to maintain.

Awesome hike, incredible views, very, very steep.

Stunning beauty with nice views of the Olympics. Steep in places but worth the effort. And we met a marmot! Some snow on trail but easily passable now.

Easy hike! Nice waterfall at the end.

This was our favorite hike we did in the park. We didn’t go all the way to the lake, but the ridge had incredible views. When we went there was a bit of snow left including a snow field but didn’t come across any big problems with only our boots. There are 12-13 switchbacks once you meet Switchback Trail but the views are well worth it. We saw deer, marmots and mountain goats. I’d recommend this to anyone.

Steep incline from beginning to end but well worth it. The view is absolutely breathtaking!

Super bummed, the road into this area is completely closed! We came from Port Angeles direction and I think we only made it just 12 miles or so out of Port Angeles before the closure. Make sure you do your research before making the trip!

A little snowy but easily done. Wonderful views! Would definitely do again

Recommended! A bit crowded over Memorial Day weekend. Beautiful waterfall at the end. Trails are well maintained. Easy hike, took us approximately an hour.

Great little hike and the falls were beautiful!

Beautiful trail. It was a 6.2 mile hike, with 1000 feet of elevation gain with two pups. We parked near the Olympic National Forest headquarters building. Many bridges to cross, beautiful scenery, and nobody on the trail, but us.

Great views through most of this trail. Mostly paved throughout. Still a little bit of snow left.

Great views. Flat to begin with, but there is some steep inclines toward the middle and end. Paved trail most of the way. Good amount of traffics. Saw marmots. Snow is mostly melted, but did have to walk on maybe 200 yards of snow.

It was awesome. I remember it was so dark in the rain forest at night you couldn't see your hand right in front of your eyes.

We did an extended stay in this area and it was incredible. Loved the hike, loved the nature, loved the views. Our original goal was different than what happened in reality but the trail never disappointed. We went in mid May. You will enjoy Bears, Deer, and hopefully some Elk. Elkhorn was our favorite campsite

Awesome views! Deer on the trail. Light snow on the trail.

amazing hike! saw a mountain goat at the summit of mount Angeles. minimal snow, although at the foot of the summit climb there still is some which can make it difficult to follow the trail- nothing crazy though. breath taking views!! did the entire thing & stopped for a picnic in 4.5 hours.

Beautiful stroll.

Easy stroll. Hard to find.

The views are amazing from a couple of spots. The trail itself is hard and steep.

It’s a very popular hike during holidays and sometimes weekends.

Amazing view. The mountains are so close well
Actually they are very far.

Beautiful trail, fairly easy with children. We turned around about halfway up when we turned a corner and found snow as far as we could see. We’ll have to come back!
Parking lot at the trail head is small, so get here early or you’ll be hiking from a lower lot.

It would be a great short hike but it’s still closed off due to snow. Don’t waste time walking around like we did, drive up to the Hurricane Ridge trail head.

Scenic hike. Breathtaking view of the mountains and Port Angeles. Some snow on the trail but easy to get through.
