Great little hike to see a beautiful waterfall and play in the stream down below. A bonus: hike along the trails by Lake Crescent to catch some extraordinary views of that amazing mountain lake.

Biked this trail 7-16-2018. Not much traffic on a Monday mid-day. We have hybrid bikes, skinny tires would be a problem. Tunnel is no problem, lights not needed. Eastern half of trail is packed rock or dirt, western half is paved. There was a short section mid-trail where the dirt trail became narrow and close to the edge, as inexperienced trail riders we walked our bikes through this, otherwise an easy ride. The paved half was a slight grade uphill but easy biking because the grade is so gradual. On the return just for fun we coasted the first four miles without pedaling! Entire trip took about 3 1/2 hours including a delightful picnic on the lake.

A fun and quick little trail with plenty to see along the way. Starting at Lake Crescent, you pass through a small tunnel and into a mossy forest. It’s a straightforward walk to the falls with not much climbing at all. Perfect for all ages. We went in early July and the level of Mosquitos was border line unbearable. We found this was the case in most of the hikes we did so take bug spray! You will pass by a few bridges that cross over some creeks that are great for pictures. And finally once at the falls, make sure you climb up to the second platform for a better view. The falls themselves are not the greatest sight on earth but the trail makes it worth the easy venture.

We got to the parking lot at 5:30 and it took us about 1 hour 15 minutes round trip. Late afternoon was a good time to visit - not crowded and the setting sun creates some beautiful views along the trail.

You may want some bug spray. The mosquitoes were not bad but there were some flying about. A little citronella insurance policy might serve you well.

The falls are pretty and you can get quite close. The two foot bridges are picturesque, particularly the narrow one made from logs.

Easy walking until you get to the bridges, then there is a short climb to the falls. I would suggest going left on the loop and coming back down time same way. The lower falls view is superior to the upper view and the path is easier.

Definitely worth the time.

Great for children!

Great trail for a easy day hike. Take the trail to the side of the tunnel for bridge access. Tons of access points to jump in the lake and cool off on a hot summer day.

beautiful quick hike, but VERY CROWDED.

Amazing to see some snow blocking part of the trail in July (although easy enough to walk over with care) on this lovely short hike. Great views from Sunrise point and the deer and marmots were in abundance too. Hurricane Ridge road has some major roadworks leading to a one way stretch with a pilot truck that causes delays - but we noticed that by arriving late in the day (4pm) and leaving around 7pm, the road was fully open on the way down making return faster. Wildflowers currently seem best on the slops a bit lower down, so maybe a few weeks from peak higher up.

Cool historical facts panel. Get some rose at the lodge!

Easy hike with a small incline at the end.

Beautiful and super easy hike.

Short hike to the waterfall through tall moss-covered trees. Flat all the way then uphill at the end. The waterfall was gorgeous! Very tall.

Contrary to the warnings of another reviewer, I had no problem at all driving to the trail head in my 4 cylinder Toyota. As long as you go in the summer months when you can avoid the snow, and your tires aren't bald, you should be fine. The road is narrow and very winding, so I wouldn't recommend going more than 20 mph for most of the drive.

As for the trail itself, it's very short which was perfect for someone like me. I'm sure the views would have been spectacular had there not been cloud cover at the top. Unfortunately, I couldn't see more than a few yards out.

Very fun

Short hike to the falls. Much more up close and personal, as you can make your way to the bottom and stand right at the foot of the falls. Do not miss this one. It does not take up much time from a busy hiking day to make a quick detour to this trail.

Beautiful, but the swimming area draws a crowd. Definitely worth a visit for an easy stroll against a gorgeous backdrop.

Industrial area with a sidewalk to a jetty beach. Nothing special.

We did this short paved walk (along with Hurricane Ridge trail - it’s basically the same trail) at 7 pm and it was BEAutiful! Deer are everywhere and they’re not afraid of humans at all. The lighting was fantastic for pictures and the landscape was unbeatable for almost no effort. If you have a quick half hour to waste, do it up here.

There’s still a couple of yards on the Cirque rim trail that are closed due to snow, but there are other paths diverting from that one that it doesn’t make much of a difference.

Super short trail with a paved path so even someone in a wheelchair could enjoy the beautiful views. The waterfall was very pretty!

Super easy trafficked trail for all skill levels. While the falls were small it’s the overall beauty of the trail that was mesmerizing! .While the signs state no dogs, it was disappointing to see a large amount dogs on the trail.

Favorite views consisted of the lake through the trees at the beginning of the trail and the amazingly large trees that we saw throughout the trail. There were many great items to view along the way to the falls.

Easy hike! Nice waterfall at the end.

Recommended! A bit crowded over Memorial Day weekend. Beautiful waterfall at the end. Trails are well maintained. Easy hike, took us approximately an hour.

Great little hike and the falls were beautiful!

Beautiful trail. It was a 6.2 mile hike, with 1000 feet of elevation gain with two pups. We parked near the Olympic National Forest headquarters building. Many bridges to cross, beautiful scenery, and nobody on the trail, but us.

It was awesome. I remember it was so dark in the rain forest at night you couldn't see your hand right in front of your eyes.

Beautiful stroll.

Easy stroll. Hard to find.

It would be a great short hike but it’s still closed off due to snow. Don’t waste time walking around like we did, drive up to the Hurricane Ridge trail head.

it's a beautiful and relatively easy hike. we'll worth the stop if you have an hour or two to spare.
