Had a great 5 hour hike. Beautiful views even with the smoke from the fires. Monday wasn’t so crowded. The wildflowers were awesome.

Awesome little trail, very blue and clear waterfall and creek. I recommend if you don't mind a little walk through the woods.

Great wild life. Flowers were in bloom. Trail was in good shape.

Definitely doable if you’re not fit but took longer with all the breaks. Be careful of stepping on shale. Poles help with this bit

Gorgeous trail, not too steep but also a workout. The snow on the mountain is a nice treat.

Love this hike. Came here during the peak of wildflower season & was mesmerized by all the vibrant colors. I’d recommend cutting to Moraine Trail (no crowds & best views) & Panorama Point if you have time.

Hiked this trail earlier this week. The view of Mount Rainier was amazing, it is a must do if you have never been to Mount Rainier before.

Didn't hike the entire trail as we went with a 7 year old and Grandma. But the trail we did hike was beautiful. There was still plenty of snow, which my 7 year old spent much of the time.

Amazing hike! Hiked it clockwise....you’re never without a breathtaking view. My first time seeing a marmot....they were plentiful. Highly recommend.

Enjoyed the hike up Golden Gate Trail to connect back into Skyline loop and Panorama Point. The meadows were in bloom and we saw several marmots and squirrels on the way up. Remember to bring plenty of water while the sun is hot!

This was an amazing trail. Gorgeous views. Go counterclockwise and get the steepness over with. It’s an easy 3 mile stroll down after reaching the peak.

Always a classic. So good. Hazy day due to the fires, but not bad. Peak wild flower season has come and gone. This weekend will be the last chance to see some of the darker reds and purples. I would still suggest going to see the flowers . . But not past Sunday. Paradise Inn for lunch is not good . . Would not recommend.

Great view! Beautiful trail.

2018-08-05, Sunday, arrived Paradise Visitors center parking at 8:30am, parking lot was half full.
We hiked skyline trail clockwise, stopped a lot and took many photos, amazing view and wild flowers.
It took us 6hours to finish this trail. My iPhone shows total 7 miles (11 km).

This hike was beautiful!! Lots of flowers, little frogs butterflies. Majestic view of Mt. Rainer. One of my favorites!

Hike is great...app is incorrect. Not moderate hike!
W/C access...yes, straight up the paved trail...for a ways..rest is gravel. Beautiful

I hiked this yesterday and it was definitely beautiful. I never got tired of the views. Also, it is a short hike. The whole thing took about an hour and a half with lots of breaks.
I feel like the elevation listed here might be inaccurate because we had to take a lot of breaks and it felt steep. The way there is a little steep. However, I am pretty out of shape and it only took us 50 minutes to reach the lake.
The other issue was BUGS. The flies are miserable. When you are moving they are just a minor problem but as soon as we stopped to take a break they swarmed us. I didn't actually get bit by any, but I had to constantly swat at them. The mosquitos were pretty bad by the shady part of the lake as well.

Beautiful hike. Would love to go back and swim and be more prepared for the bugs. :)

was an amazing day of adventure. Trails were clear and scenic in every view. Really Loved It.

One of our best hike, amazingly beautiful, love it.

One of my favorite hikes in mount Rainier during summer

Epic views & a good trail. I loved the alpine meadows and wildflowers everywhere. It’s a beautiful hike.

One of the best hikes in the park

I have been on a lot of pretty trails and this one was just plain hard. Lots of steps and tons of flys. The view was nice but you could not get to the lake like I thought you could. It was not long but took a while because of all the steps but if you stopped flys were all over you BAD. So if steps are hard for you this is not a good trail for you.

Beautiful meadows, snow patches, amazing views of Mt Rainier. The lower sections on the western part of the loop were extremely crowded on the way back, but the eastern part of the loop heading up in the morning was very quiet.

My 4 year old son (H) hiked the entire thing himself, so it is definitely on the easy side.

great trail but was a rated as moderate is actually a strenuous hike according to the national parks society
Average time on this hike is 4 1/2 hours
Would recommend for a clear day can’t see anything in cloud cover
great wild life wouldn’t do without a lot of hiking experience and gear
Would recommend professional hiking gear because without it is quite dangerous

Probably the busiest trail in the park since it takes you halfway up Rainier. We went on a Wednesday, arrived shortly after noon, and were able to get parking in the lowest Paradise lot. We hiked clockwise on a sunny day to see the mountain as much as possible. There were tons of people until Panorama Point, where a park volunteer was hanging out and there’s a bathroom built into the side of the mountain. The lower skyline path is closed due to a dangerous snowfield, but the top of the high skyline loop is a lovely spot to stop, rest, and take in the mountain. Most folks who keep going after Panorama take the Golden Gate shortcut back—we only met a few folks doing the entire loop after that point. The trail traffic picks up once Golden Gate and Skyline meet again, and even more at Myrtle Falls. There were some marmots and a few chipmunks along the trail—the chipmunks in particular were out for any food not packed away. Hiking poles were useful for the steep portions and the spots where snow is still in the trail.

The best views of Rainier I’ve found, but in the heat of summer the bugs were out in force. You may need to reapply bug repellent and sunscreen. We met groups of all ages, but had plenty of trail time to ourselves as well. Definitely recommend trek poles for this hike, especially for people with bad knees.

Awesome hike, doesn't get much better than this unless you do the summit. Bring garbage bags for glissading down, I did it without and spikes or poles by avoiding majority of the snow. My favorite hike so far!
