Nice and easy stroll around the lake with good views of the Capitol and pretty close to downtown Olympia

This is the best place to go during the salmon run. You can see these incredible animals jump up the falls trying so hard. It’s a moderate hike but kids can definitely do it as well while experiencing this amazing event. At some spots it can be slippery. At the top of the falls is a small education center, park benches and playground.

Definitely a nice walk with view of the capitol and the lake. Not far from downtown Olympia if anyone wants to grab a bite to eat afterwards.

Such a peaceful and family friendly place to set ones Internal reset button. Worth the experience.

Nice nature trail and my 4 legged partner enjoyed it too. For dog people, leashes are required and BYOPB. It looks like folks do pick up after their dogs but they don’t always have them on leashes. Which is rude. Parking is poor. There are a max of 4 spaces, if folks haven’t parked willy nilly, 3 if they have. There is street parking some yards away and you walk on the road to the park. There is also no signage telling you a park is even there. It almost looks like someone’s yard and you will miss it if you’re not paying attention. But, it’s worth the time if you want a nice nature hike. If you are in poor condition you might be challenged by parts of it.

Our family visited this trail on a cold sunny day (Early March) and were not disappointed! The youngest member of our crew (toddler range) had no problem completing the 4 mile trail as we took our time along the way. This trail begins as a wide gravel path that leads to a well maintained boardwalk. I would without hesitation bring grandparents and those who struggle with mobility to this trail as it is mostly flat, has wide safe paths, and is easily navigated as a group. The main shop offers free binoculars rentals which is a MUST as you are surrounded by birds and other wildlife.

great trail with plenty of elevation changes!

Visited this park about a week back. Surprised by the length of the trail & the size of the falls! Worth a visit for a quick little walk.

I was impressed with the size of this trail, it seems like a tiny park for the homeless to chill at but I saw no homeless and it was a large park. the trails are easy on the way in, a hill on the way out that's bad on the lower back, but you'll survive. i recommend this park to anyone over the age of 1.

Can you take four wheelers on this trail?

Very pretty and easy stroll to take an out of town friend that doesn’t really hike. Beautiful on a rainy morning I’m sure we will be back for a picnic on a drier afternoon!

Nice walk today a cool 42 out but still a nice walk

Really interesting signage, great walk for kids, beautiful views.

Nice trail for a family hike!

Great trail, paved the whole way. Lots of people, lots of dogs, most were off leash but friendly. Good for all levels.

This trail is great for beginners. We brought our puppy here on her first hike.

I would rate this as a moderate trail. Very steep areas and lots of stairs. Not a lot of steady level ground. But pretty and quiet.

great hike with quite a few inclines.

Love this place! Easy to walk, pretty out there! Quiet also nice for photos!

Didn't care for this one much. Kinda depressing out that way. Also by the road so not much for quiet.

Can be busy, but always nice!!! Spring and summer brings some pretty flowers around the loop. I love the bridge :) Easy walk, slight inclines in areas that can prove to be difficult for some, just go slow. Fantastic for kids and animals :)

Love this place! Easy for kids to come along as well. Beautiful flowers and scenery in spring and summer! Neat history too!! What a fun place!

Easy hike to get to and my 4 yr old walked most of the route too! Lots to see

Can't go wrong, rain or shine at the Watershed! It's incredible to be a block from downtown Olympia but feel like you're miles from it all. I've grown up walking this trail and though I have traveled all over, I always come back and enjoy this one. It really has everything I need to feel in tune with nature in about 45 minutes to an hour; interspersed streams as you loop, wooden boardwalks and bridges, hills, valleys, and an overload of lush greenery!

we took lost valley trail. lots of different trail systems. easy to find. easy to navigate. perfect bike/horse/hiking trails. only a slight uphill grade and great for kids of all ages. we did 8miles in 3hrs. not as challenging as we like but it was a nice walk in the woods with multiple water crossings. No place for discovery pass get one before you go out no cell service to buy it online. 1-12-18

This is actually called the lost valley trail

Very enjoyable walk. Easy for all levels.

Nice and easy trail but not very well marked. It’s not until about a mile in the hike where signs for the waddle loop show up. There is also a fair amount of mud and horse poop so bring boots!
