Very simple loop that offers amazing views of Tabletop! Also the lakes are crystal clear and ice cold, perfect to dip your toes in on a hot summer day, or let your dog go for a swim! Before you start on the trail, be sure to go inside Grandma’s Cabin and read up on the history of the area!

Super short and accessible trail. You can park on the side of the road and make the trip around the lake in about 10 minutes! Fully paved, and there’s benches to sit at the good view points. Just be sure not to step off the pavement, as the landscape is fragile and still healing.

Good, simple hike. As of 8/13/2018 it is very smokey. You can still see the mountains but not as clearly as I wanted to.

This is a scenic walk. It is easy but on the mountain side of the loop it gets a wee bit challenging if you have knee issues, are out of shape, or are not sure footed. It is a single file trail.

Stay on the side of the lodge or parking lot and go back and forth on that path if you are not a walking person or have medical issues.

Fire and Ice is a quick and super easy trail with gorgeous views.
It is a must!!!! I am amazed at how beautiful it is.

Super fast and easy trail but...oh such views!
Beautiful!

Awesome views! One of my favorites

Hiked this on Sunday, had super pretty views but also had a lot of people up there

If you're in the area, go! Walk around the path and take in the amazing views of Mt. Shuksan over the lake.

Hiked it July 16. Beginning is still completely snowed in. Since I haven't done it before I had done trouble finding my way with all the snow, but eventually my micro spikes got me through the uphill snow field and to the switchbacks.

At the switchbacks the snow disappeared and the going was much easier, albeit straight up through rugged rock. Beautiful views of Baker as you're ascending.

Once on top there are 360 degree views of Baker, Shuksan, and many other beautiful things in every direction. I was competent enveloped in blue snowmelt ponds, snowy mountains, sheer cliffs, and so on.

To continue past the top it requires micro spikes to be put back on so I could do some ridge hiking to explore. Only saw two other people the three hours or so I was on the hike.

Seriously so beautiful. Still snow on the trail in some places, it’s very thin in some spots as well so you can fall through so be very careful and mindful of that.

so couldn't do any hikes because there was so much snow, but roads clear and open. we wandered around a while looking for a trailhead but no luck, had my 1 year old and 8 year old so wasn't going to chance it. talked to a women at the visitor center, she said at least 2 or 3 more weeks til it's clear. the views from the parking lot were amazing so cant wait to go back.

so many amazing and beautiful views from such a simple location. It's short enough that you can spend your time actually exploring and looking around without being pressured for time. So many little Treasures, can't wait to see it in the fall!

The road to Artist Point is cleared of snow but the gate is still locked shut so you can walk the 2.7 mile up to the point but apparently no driving up there until July sometime. Hopefully before the 4th.

From artist point to the summit, you have about a 1 mile hike up. The trail is marked, barely, but it's rugged and fun. breathtaking views of Mount Baker and Mount Shuksan, a lake and the Ski Area.

This hike needs to be combined with another hike to earn the five stars as its a long drive to Baker for a short hike. Leave about 2.5 hours for this hike and explore the terrain up top. You need to wander and explore. Its a three star hike if you hike up and down.

All 17 of us enjoyed it...even the ones who can't hike. Absolutely 'Picture' perfect!

Beautiful scenery. Nice, easy trail, though last hundred yards is uphill.

Still a lot of snow mid July. Would rate higher later in the summer when it is possible to walk and enjoy the beauty around you rather than having to watch every step. Fantastic for a hike with the kiddos.

Seriously beautiful views. Turned around at about the halfway point because it was a bit much for kids under 10. Fragrant flowers and snow capped mountains make this picture perfect.

Beautiful in September with all the fall colors. There is a medium mud and rock slide approximately 1.5 miles on the drive up. The pot holes are worth the hike.

A great easy walk around Picture Lake. Perfect for families or people who aren't up for a full hike in the Mt Baker Wilderness. It is also a nice little warm up if you want to take in the scenery before heading up off the beaten path.

This is a very nice late afternoon walk.

Not a bad trail for some great views of Mt. Shuksan & Mount Baker! The Switchbacks are fun!
