Easy and gorgeous! Nice that it’s a full loop. Recommended.

Nice hike, stunning view in the end! Not for beginners.

6-21-19 the snow on the trail is pretty much melted, able to summit without spikes. Tons of goat activity, which made up for the summit being socked in.

It’s definitely a hard trail. Take plenty of water, wear the right gear and you will set! It’s up hill so be prepared! We took frequent stops, but it was enjoyable.

Beautiful hike! We didn’t see many bugs and the trail was amazing! Highly recommend. It was actually 8 miles on my watch. The decent is a little hard on the legs due to the steep decline, but it was so worth it! I recommend you do it!!

Beautiful meadow at the end! Lots of switchbacks at the beginning to Lower Lena. Once you get on the Upper trail it’s gets much tougher. Sections that are VERY steep for a mile or so at a time. A few narrow sections, but nothing too crazy. Even saw a little girl about 10yrs old carrying her own pack with her parents. Atta girl!! Plenty of shade and spots to rest. Great views along the way. Predetermined campsites set up to hang bear bags. Didn’t see much wildlife. Totally recommend

Easy 2 mile loop. Nice stream views from the west side (crushed stone path) of the loop. The east side was simply an easy dirt road.

Hiked on 6/15. Beautiful, well-kept and dry trail full of lushness and easy to follow. I arrived at 8:15am and only passed 4 people on the way to the lake. Once at the lake there were many campers starting to stir. The descent back to my car was very crowded. This was my first hike in the PNW and it did not disappoint!

This hike was steep but not technical. The trail is very well maintained and beautifully made. Views are stunning and well worth it. Trailhead is directly across the road from lake access, making it easy to swim after you sweat.

Definitely a challenging hike! Pretty comparative to Wagon Wheel hike in Staircase in terms of difficulty and elevation gain. The views at the top are priceless though! I solo hiked it and it took 4 hours total with a 30 minute break at the top.

It was fun but big fallen trees made it hard for a short person. Very challenging but lots of beautiful views.

Hiked 6/13/19. Only a little bit of snow the last quarter mile. Super steep trail most of the way but worth it. My gps clocked it at 8.25 miles total. Only saw a few other hikers. Great hike if you’re looking for a challenge and solitude.

Nicely maintained trail, hard at some segments but well worthy the effort with its views and workout!

Hard is an understatement! Be prepared to climb and end up with jell-o legs! Trail is well marked with a few blowdown trees you’ll need to climb over. Also, lots of bugs so make sure you’ve got bug spray! I went on a cloud day so I didn’t get a good view but it was still awesome to reach the top and be among the clouds! It took me 2 hrs 48 mins to reach the top and about 1 hr 20 mins to get back down but I’m also on the novice side of hiking so take that as you will! :) My Apple Watch logger 7.15 miles total not 6.7 but also not 8 like an earlier review.

Great easy hike! My 6 year old and 2 year old completed this no problem! Pretty views along the way of the river. We even saw a herd of elk only a couple yards off of the trail.

This hike reminded me of Mt. Si just a slower, steady climb. Up and back in 2.5 hours with a few stops and a15 minute lunch break at the lake. Trail was in good condition but very rocky the whole way and muddy in some areas. Saw a few people on the trail and a group of backpackers on their way back down. Not too busy at all.

Great day hike with kaibos at the trail head and campground. Water available at the lake if you have a water filter. Paved road to parking. Many hikers on the weekend.

Very gradual incline which is great for backpacking weight. Saw many kids some as young as 3 or 4 y/o. Rocky but trails are well maintained and wide. Quite a few options for campsites at the lake with a legit bathroom house and actual fire pits! Most campsites had direct access to the shore. We were bummed that towards the very last corner to finish the hike around the lake the bridge was down so there is a makeshift couple of logs you can cross the river on but I didn’t attempt that with my dog in tow and rocks were slippery we didn’t want wet feet. Overall so peaceful and scenic! Even on a Saturday morning we started around 9:30 and didn’t come across many people until after 12, then it got very busy
