The view at the lake is breathtaking. Pictures don't do it justice. The mosquitoes were very bad. I'd recommend a head net and long sleves/pants. I wore long sleves/leggings, a buff around my head, and repeated used quality big spray.. that helped deter them but I still came back with plenty of bites (not nearly as many as my husband who was in shorts and short sleeves). I'd consider the trail very heavily trafficked but as others have mentions it lightens up after you turn off Colchuck. Nonetheless, we went on a week day and I'd say Stuart was still fairly moderately trafficked. This trail is more difficult then other "moderately" rated trails in the area.
