Beautiful hike all around and very good huckleberries along the way!

it was easy on our bad knees but still gave us a bit of exercise. easy elevations was what made the knees be able to continue without any pain to speak of. and the wildflowers were gorgeous this time of year (May.)

It was so awesome!!! The trail is a very good condition. Get there early to find parking since it’s a very popular destination.

Really nice little hike, very quiet and good views at the top!
NB : We saw that a pass was normally required (Northwest forest pass, other local interagency pass - available at wenatchee ranger station or a day pass that can be bought at the trail in summer months)

Forest road is open! Snow on last two miles of trail to the lake

I love this trip, really got my heart pumping with switchbacks but worth it!

beautiful hike! took us just over two hours, and we ran most of the way down. beautiful views of leavenworth and the mountains and river! tons of wildflowers too! would recommend doing it in the morning to beat the heat.

Strong workout. Nice views at the top but nothing outstanding. Lots of fallen trees that are annoying if you like to walk at a steady pace. BUGS!!!!
We're glad we did it, but we'll not do it again.

Easy, beautiful half-day hike

Too much snow at the top, last half a mile snow is everywhere could not find trail. Ended up turning around. We’ll try again in a month or so when snow melts.

The trail was hard to read, I ended up turning back. I was not prepared enough. Thanks I did a recording to find my way back.

Great hike in May. No snow, but a little crowded. A lot of elevation gain and switch backs.

Had to hike 3 miles up the forest service road just to get to the trailhead, which tired us out and we couldn't reach the lake due to heavy snow packed on the trail passed the bridge half way through. I will definitely be back in a month or two I can only imagine how nice it will be up top!

Road is closed

We started out early in the morning and it was truly beautiful. There are many switchbacks with great places to catch your breath. Arriving at the top showcase views which are amazing of Leavenworth Valley, Cascade Mountains and Wenatchee River. Worth every breath.

We summited on May 5. Great hike until about 5k feet when the snow got pretty deep. You’ll want a downloaded trail map to find your way. Snowshoes and poles with baskets also a good idea. Bring lots of water, that last climb is a burner but well worth it.

I’m a heavy guy and decided to start dropping weight this year by walking and hiking. This new lifestyle change is eye opening for many reasons but for today it was the gorgeous views at the top (I took a right at the top to overlook Leavenworth). The trail was pretty crowded which was great for me since I had to stop all the time anyway so the extra stops were nice to catch my breath. An excellent experience. I’ll do it again.

This trail was absolutely amazing, my friend and I had her daughter with us who is 4 years old and she did great! Of course lots of little breaks with the little one, but it was very easy for her and she loved climbing over all the fallen logs that are on the trail! It’s not a super long way to the hidden lake either, and the view is beautiful! The way down is tricky, we crossed the stream and stuck to the right side .. found a trail that led us to a campground, we got confused because it wasn’t where we originally started had the same look though. Ended up asking some passer bys in a vehicle for directions & had to take the dusty road back to the trailhead.. now I know I’ll probably just go back the way I came to the lake and skip that whole other side!

that means you dont have to pay, but you gotta watch out for the pigs

Great spring with yellow daisies and some paint brush. Switchbacks all the way up. Tumwater Canyon, Leavenworth, and a 360 degree view at the top.

This makes for a great shoulder season hike when other trails are too snowed in. There was a considerable amount of down trees and debris covering the trail from the trail head to the first junction. Pants are recommended. The water is almost always easy to access and many options about for further exploring on and off trail. You hike the first mile and a half on a residential access road passing three or four residences. This is a bit confusing but eventually you hot the trail itself and shortly after that you are in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness.

Jump in the water

Love this trail. Easy hike among giant cedars. beautiful green river beside you and snow covered mountains around you. one of my favorites. still a bit of snow, but the road is now opened.

Pleasant hike. Great views.

Great trail with sweeping views. Will definitely go back

Nice views at the top. Lots of switchbacks in the beginning with minimum views, Getting to the top is worth it.

Nice hike with breathtaking meadow views. Ended at the lake with a light lunch. September was the perfect time to go.

It was definitely difficult for us but so worth it!

Most beautiful ending to a hike ever. The way up is pretty hard and (honestly) ugly, but once you break through to the view and the meadows it is amazing. I definitely recommend going across the stream from the lake up over the hill to see the best view. Great hike!
