Super cool trail. Really well groomed and beautiful. Kicked my butt, and at some point almost quit until a couple in their 30s said it was so worth it and the views get better from the summit so I persevered. I am glad I did. We ended the hike in near dark, saved by a nearly full moon. If you descend after sunset you have to have a headlamp. The rocky part could be super dangerous without one.

Arrived at the lower trail head Sunday at 8:00 am. Not busy on the way up but quite busy on the way down. Poles are helpful because it’s steeeeep! Beautiful even with limited cloudy views.

The lower trailhead was not well marked and there was not a bathroom. There were quite a few cars and the GPS said we had arrived, but it would be an easy trailhead to miss without the other cars there to mark it. Great hike. It was beautiful through the trees with peekaboo views of the mountains. I absolutely love the classic western Washington wooded trails. After joining with the upper trail the trail got noticeably steeper and the switchbacks started. The last portion of the trail was like being on the stair steeper, and the rocks were slippery. The views from the top were amazing! We had lunch at one of the viewpoints that had a breathtaking view of the Sound. Overall the trail was well cared for. As some other people noted we missed the junction with the lower trail and we ended up going down to the upper tralhead. We just turned around and went back to the junction...what was another quarter mile hill! Great hike. Awesome views!

I came around 230 pm on Satursay. I started at upper trail, felt kinda cheating on the hike but it was a right decision. my watch counted 6 miles from upper trail head to the top so it would add extra 4 miles on top of 6 miles journey if you start at the lower trail head. _ restroom: at upper trail head _ car: sedan is oke _shoes: i recommend you to bring your hiking shoes or at least water resistant and non slippery kinda shoes cuz the rocks and woods on ground might cause you slipping. _ poles: i dont bring them but it might help your knee or at least go uphill ;) - brought extra layers, and waterproof jacket cuz it would be raining and absolutely windy on the way to the top when you get out the woods. btw, the sideway wind was strong that I had to paused few times not to fall. good luck and stay safe

This “hike” is just walking on a flat logging road for a mile. Nothing to look at along the way and no interesting terrain. However, everyone obviously comes here for the bridge. I’ve been twice now and it’s totally worth climbing if you at all want to. The steel support can be scaled if you’re somewhat in shape and careful. Be advised: getting down is much harder. The drop is about 25 feet. The first time I came with no plan to get down and fortunately got help from someone who showed up. The second time I brought a robe and left it. Even with the rope; getting down is difficult. The boards on this bridge have withstood 100 years and it shows. While I’m sure they will not tear the bridge down, time will deteriorate it until it’s no longer accessible. Enjoy it while we still can.

Challenging hike. Was quite cloudy and windy at the top with no views. There were glimpses of the view further down. I would definitely recommend, especially if the weather is supposed to be clear!

(Not from here, from MI) it had gorgeous views of all the trees and some waterfalls. I am a beginner for sure, and it was steep and in some areas just take your time but well worth it once you get past the steep incline, the waterfalls and back down are the most gorgeous parts. Also great restaurants and ice cream shop in the town below to stop at afterwards. And lots of dogs so very pet friendly!

The elevation is no joke. Good variety of scenery! Definitely worth it. Took us 3 hours total- 1 hr 45 min up and 1 hr 15 down. Started from the upper trailhead.

Amazaballs. If you want to get your climb on this is the one for you. First portion is beautiful slow climb then you get to the good stuff. Recommend poles for more sure footing.

A beautiful trail but be WARNED- it is significantly steeper than it lets on. We walked uphill at a significant grade for about 2 miles. May make sense to do the trail in the opposite direction. Otherwise, a gorgeous trip, well marked, and easy to navigate.

Super gorgeous at the top! I did this as a sunrise hike in May and it was still covered with snow about half way up the mountain! Got lost multiple times, but it makes for good memories!!

Great trail. Started from the lower lot. Early on through the trees is absolutely gorgeous, not hard. Like others have said, the last .5 mile or so is pretty brutal stair stepping. Hike down was fun, definitely missed the turn to the lower lot and ended up at the upper lot. Took the trail behind the restrooms which got us back to the road and a short walk to the lot. It was very smoky, low visibility and probably not a great idea but we did i it out alive. Will definitely go back up to catch the views

Believe the rating when it says “hard” but it was so incredibly worth it. When you think you’re almost at the summit you still have a good 45 minutes left but the views are absolutely breathtaking.

We hiked this on thurs sept 10th. We got there about 8:30 and there was only a few people there. We hiked up from the lower lot. The last mile or so was difficult with little to no shade. I strongly recommend poles due to how steep it is. On the way back down we missed the junction for the lower lot and ended up at the upper lot. Instead of back tracking we took the road down which was a mistake. There is a shortcut located behind the toilet at the upper lot if you run into this issue. Took us 3 hours to go up and with our long detour it took us 2 1/2 to get back (but think this would have been more like 1 1/2 if not for our mistake). About 2 liters of water per person. A quote from another set of hikers who made the same mistake as us “the trail was clearly marked where the trail clearly there” could have marked the junction better. Another hiker also informed us there is no longer goats which I was looking forward to seeing, they all were relocated. We did see some grouse

Fairly busy for a Wednesday. A few people with dogs but would have been too strenuous for mine. The vertical gain is the most difficult part but is doable, just be careful as the terrain gets rocky and more technical. Overall the work is definitely worth it for the reward. The views at the top are 360 and although the smoke from wild fires made it hazy, it was still beautiful so I can only imagine it on a clear day. Would do again!
