We hiked this trail from the 2270 - 400 road, above Wynoochee Lake, beginning late, around 2 pm. It was a hike full of beautiful scenery and rugged terrain. Some side-slope scrambling, lots of roots and rock outcrops in the trail and several "interesting" stream crossings. There was only a little snow left near the pass and we turned back at 5 o'clock without quite reaching the pass. My feet became sore going downhill on the return trip so it was 6:45 by the time we returned to the truck for our drive home. I look forward to returning later this Summer to hike to Sundown Lake and back.
