Hike up was beautiful. Moderate difficulty is a good description. Get there early. We parked at 630am and shared the entire walk up with one other person (and a quick bear sighting). On the way down we passed a ton of people. Parking lot was filled with people circling for spots at 12. Beautiful views at the top!

Love it beautiful views a little bit crowded but is worth the effort

Was an awesome easy hike and amazing views.

Get there early! Beautiful hike. Not over crowded in the early morning. When we left at 1pm, the parking lot was packed! Trail was quite enjoyable.
Also don’t forget bug spray.

super easy. great with the kids

best trail we have hiked this year.

Did this hike yesterday! So enjoyable. I arrived around 7:30, I was one of three cars on the Monday morning. It felt like I had the trail all to myself for most of my ascent up. It was only until the last half of my lake loop and my descent down the trail, did I actually start to see more people and groups.

Seems to get packed quickly the later in the day it gets. I can’t imagine the traffic on a weekend. I was thankful that I wore my most water resistant boots. Some casual stream crossing, water fall gazing, and splashing around was well worth it. The trail was very well maintained and I personally enjoyed the mixture of man made bridges / stairs in contrast to the occasional array of rocks and stones.

Great hike! Brought a couple of dogs and they loved it. Especially the extra hike to the water. It was pretty easy overall. Some parts are pretty narrow and we got eaten by mosquitos. But it was very pretty!

Hiked today and it was gorgeous. I got there at about 7-7:30 and there weren't too many people there, but tons of people got there around 9 or so. Multiple waterfalls and incredible lake at the top. Definitely recommend hiking shoes if you have them. There's lots of walking on rocks, wet rocks, and over creeks. Also, don't forget to pay for parking or have a pass.

first time with the family best hike this far. beautiful scenery and fresh air. dog friendly easy hike.

This hike did not disappoint. The 40 switchbacks were strenuous but worth it. The path is well maintained and I did not experience a lot of bugs, only one mosquito bite and I did not need to use bug spray. Bring your suite, the water in both lakes is perfect for swimming!

great workout and absolutely fantastic views

Arrived around 8am Sat morning and snagged the last parking spot. Small lot for such a popular spot. Apparently there's parking in the campground across the way. There are bathrooms at the TH. So just FYI...I found this a moderate ++ hike for me...I'm 70. Took me some time to get thru the rocky section mostly going up but coming down was really hard on my knees. Lots of tree roots and wet rock surfaces to maneuver. OK...enough. The trees are wonderful. awesome views, the smell of the forest, the waterfalls and the lake at the top with some lingering snow on the slope. All beautiful!!

Trail is good, but watch out for pothole "minefield" on the way up/down the 1.5 mi Mt Pilchuck Access Road to the trailhead! Go very slowly, and even then it's impossible to avoid the masses of scattered potholes. Pray for your car.

Unbelievable views! We went early and didn’t run into too many people. I really didn’t think the snow was too terrible to cross over but the bugs were insane! Definitely will be prepared for those next time. I didn’t bring my dog and glad about that. The rocks at the top are not dog friendly :)

Great hike as always! Would have enjoyed it more if less people were there.

Hiked July 14 and was gorgeous! Lots of streams, snowfields, and rock scrambles along the trail that made it a challenging hike, but the views are so worth it!

The view is worth it. Small parking - must get early or after 2PM.

Such a beautiful and relatively easy trail. Went on it in May and there was still snow up at the lake. The trail itself is beautifully routed through the lush forest with multiple views of small waterfalls and grand views once you reach the portion of the switch backs. Be careful when walking on the log stairs as your foot may slip as mine did and you’ll take a log to the knee. But sore knee aside, this lake was truly breathtaking and the scenic drive out to it also matched in its beauty. You will need to purchase a North Forrest Park Pass prior to going as a heads up.

We just did some of the Pineclle Lake trail and did the short hike to Bear Lake. The road requires a high clearance vehicle, but is added fun if you like off-roading!

Wish there were more signs on where to go. But this is truely a hike of a lifetime!

Definitely a good amount of snow still on the trail (7/14), makes going down pretty slippery. Hard but great! For me, 1:40 up, 1:40 down. Go early because it got busy quick. And bring bug spray.

This hike was gorgeous! Multiple types of terrain the whole way up. You hit snow around the mile marker- it is slightly slushy, so if you aren’t stable on your feet, I recommend trekking poles. I did without and was careful, all went well. There is quite a bit of bouldering, mainly towards the top of the hike. But boy are the views worth it! Loved that the fire look out had maps of what you could see from the distance. Note to all wanting to do this hike- bring bug spray! I reapplied 2 times because bugs were so bad.

we did the hike today with 4 girls, 1,5,8 and 9, it was harder than expected, definitely a workout. its about 1.2 miles up hill. The 3 oldest started to complain a little before we reached the top. plenty of parking and not many people on the trail. view was beautiful!!!

beautiful view

Couldn’t ask for a better day. Gorgeous views and a moderate challenge. Not too crowded. Move fast to avoid the flies. Road up could use some tlc but nothing a little tactical swerving can’t get around. Dog loved the snow

Beginner friendly trail. Just wear proper shoes. Beautiful and very scenic! If you bring your dogs, please keep them on a leash and clean up after them or that will only ruin it for all of us who are responsible dog owners that love hiking with them! Can get pretty crowded... make sure you get there as early as you can if you don't want to walk dodging crowds of people along the trail!!!

Took my teenage boys out for the first hike of the year. Nice hike. Great view at the end.

Hard work but amazing views! Still a lot of snow for the last mile or so, and bugs bugs bugs bugs! I wouldn't
hike this trail with small dogs unless you're prepared to carry them across the boulder fields near the top. But bigger experienced hiking dogs will be fine!

The lake is absolutely beautiful! It is my favorite lake I have hiked to in Washington so far. The trail is rocky and was kind of wet in spots, which always makes me extra cautious. The waterfalls were an added bonus. I wish it wasn't such a busy trail, but it is easy to understand why it is.
