Easy and small inclines. Neat a great public park. Bathrooms. Safe.

Good trails signs, but a little hard to decipher. No “you are here” markings. Pretty standard loop. Some steep sections, but not overly strenuous. This was my go-to for a quick stretch of the legs for a while. Lots of friendly dog walkers, trails are pretty well kept.

would be a higher review, but the trail is covered in water. huge puddles. only come if you're prepared to wade.

Really great area. Nice loop trail. Some nice easy elevation- some ups and downs. Lots of ferns, moss, some old growth trees, and smooth trails. We went in Jan 20. It was very wet and rained that day so there was lots of mud. My shoes were wet through. I’d go back here for sure.

This was a great trail! Beautiful, secluded and quiet. Watch out for dog poop and people with dogs off leash. Otherwise loved it. We did this with 6 kids- 1 (worn), 3,5,7,9,10.

Great trails for families, plus there's a playground at the end of hiking to wear your kiddos out. Pack in Pack out.

Sunset Beach is a small grassy recreation area with a ramp down to the water as well as a picnic table and offers great views of Mt Rainier. There is a parking spot and camping is available on site.

If you’re in the area these are a great collection of running trails. I’d prefer the south entrance just because there’s better parking. The entrance shown here is just street parking in front of someone’s house. Some standing puddles on the trails but that’s life in Gig Harbor. Saw quite a few other dog walkers on the trail.

Great hike! I used to bring my boys and dogs here everyday, when we lived off of Hallstrom. A lot more trails than I remember.

This is a very easy hike but with beautiful greenery all around. There are lots of open views of the sky but with plenty of trees to provide some shade and keep you or your pups from getting too hot. This is a dog-friendly/dogs-on-leash park with plenty of room on the sides of the trails to scoot over if you or a passer by have a reactive dog. This park did not have a lot of people so it is a perfect area to train your pet if you are trying to get them comfortable with leash walking, trails, passing by others, etc. If your pup is friendly and well socialized, there are also two separate fully fenced areas at the trail head for off leash play. This is a very nice park overall. My only reason for giving four stars is that there are only disposal sites(trash cans for pup poop) in the play areas and none on the trails so you end up carrying poo bags for a bit but otherwise this place is very well kept and wonderful.

Nice trail! Has some challenges for those who like steep. Nice area to hike down to the creek. I’m looking for a place to have my Forest Bathing events.

This area is private timberland. I entered at the cul-de-sac on Talmo Road. I used Gaia GPS, but got lost. Had to call 911 finally. They used my cell signal to walk me out. Just be very aware there is no signage anywhere. Lots of dead ends in blackberry bushes. Even though I knew where I wanted to go, I couldn't get through the brush and blackberries. Very humbling. I had the 10 essentials. Had my dog. But I still got lost. Thanks to the Pierce County Sheriff dispatch and officers.

Lots of bear sign. Jumped a really nice buck. Some trails are less obvious. Some are as wide as a road. Beautiful forest walk. Kinda eerie seeing some bear bear sign. Glad I had my dog with me. I got turned around a couple times as I was just meandering.

walked three of the four trails. nice easy walk. kids has no problem.

Biking today between rain showers. Beautiful trail, some leaves/needles, but, hey, it’s fall.

Very easy to walk this trail. People bring their dogs. Alot of the area has been logged but some parts are pretty forest.

always nice. I take my large dog, who is pretty darn good at trail etiquette. We practice giving the right away to smaller dogs, runners, families with kids, pretty much everyone. IT WOULD BE AWESOME if everyone followed the dogs on leash rule. Having your dog on a leash that is draggging behind you and has no human on the other end does not count. Nor does trail running with your dog, leash in hand, but not hooked onto your large dogs harness. My 120# dog is always under control, and if I want him off leash, I'd go to the off leash park ACROSS THE STREET.
