Good hike. We went left at the fork which led to state but pretty trails. A little too strenuous for us carrying 2 kids in backpacks but we enjoyed it. We only went out 1 mike because we didn’t take enough water. Will try again another day. The suspension bridge is fun.

Family friendly hike (with Skittle bribes) with the payoff of a killer valley view. Nice change up from the Cascade range.

This trail was okay, not a favorite for us, and I doubt we will go again ( with kids atleast ) we were unaware of how to get to the Boy Scout trail, so we took the main one. And it was a steady climb the whole way, some areas were more steep than others. We took the Boy Scout trail on the way down, and it was a pretty steep incline for about half the way down, then it became pretty easy to where my 2.5 year old could walk without seeming like he was running. Unless your little one is able to be put in a backpack, I wouldn’t recommend this trail until they can hike the whole thing themselves. Overall the views were pretty tho, and the trails were decently up kept. Wasn’t too busy for a nice Sunday.

Had a very rewarding 2 night stay in the canyon last week. The sign marking where the trail is no longer maintained is knocked over and eroded; this did not stop my dog, boyfriend and I from continuing on and getting lost/ exploring for a half a day or so. We ended up scrambling up to the top of the canyon to find refuge from the sticker plants below. Gorgeous view from the top definitely worth the hard work and a perfect spot to eat lunch. The first night it dropped below freezing so Im looking forward to returning once the weather warms up a bit.

I have not completed the entire trail, however, the first 3-4 miles of this trail are quite flat and seem to be well maintained. I would recommend this trail for jogging, walking, biking. Bring the dogs and/or kids on this one for a fun family outing.

It was gorgeous, there are two trails, one goes along the creek and the other uphill. I went uphill early March and it was extremely muddy and challenging but well worth it. Extremely beautiful views.

This hike is awesome for getting a good view of the valley!

Fun, but not particularly scenic. You will need. 4x4 with good clearance to complete this. Most importantly make sure your tires are in good shape. The road is full of jagged rocks that can leave you flat. The trail is sometimes marked with signs, but there are a few places where it forks off and you dont know whats what...Keep an eye open for coyote!

Not that big of a fan of this route. Steady climb for an average view for this area. Flowers and birds were enjoyable. Little shade.

My first time hiking the ridge was this past winter with snow and ice everywhere. It was a bit difficult of course since I did not have any boot spikes but I did it anyways. I did not slip until heading back down of course hahaha.

The views were great going both ways, but if you like more of a wooded unique trail I recommend going the boyscout trail which you take a right just after the trail head kiosk they have there at the beginning. You will hike around the first hill into a little wooded canyon area and it meets back up with the main trail later on. The boyscout trail is much easier as well, it is not a steep hike like the main trail.

This is a very popular trail and it gets a bit over crowded for me sometimes, but you definitely need to hike it at least once while you're here.

I love this hike, however it is very popular!

Saw a rattle snake on the way there and heard rattling on the way back, keep your eyes open. Nevertheless, it was all worth the view up top. The weather was also perfect, it was a bit cloudy and windy.

Wonderful beautiful views tough going up and down!!

First, this appears to be a local hot spot for river rafting, so get there early for a good parking spot. We got there around 12:30 and the place was packed. Not many people on the trail though, which was nice. The first mile or so of the trail is uphill. Lots of loose rocks, so be carefull coming down, very slippery. Some areas had overgrown plants covering the trail. Other than that, nice views overall.

The trail can become overgrown but it is still a great way to get away from everything for a little bit. I have taken my dog and family on this trail and would recommend it.

Backpacked up the canyon last week. Tough hike in the heat, with little shade, but well worth the views of the canyons, Mt Rainier, Mt Adams and the rest of the Cascades. Wow! We camped at the top and watched the sunset go on for hours and hours. Not a popular backpacking spot apparently, we had it to ourselves! Bring A LOT of water if you don't want to hike back down. Be aware of snakes, tiny scorpions and cacti.

I did this on the first day of a backpacking trip, not good at all during the late spring. The river and trail is overgrown and we eventually had to leave the canyon and hike up because we kept loosing the trail. But still a good trail in the fall. Not the prettiest scene

My wife and I did this trail today with our two dogs. Really, a gorgeous area with plenty of flora and fauna. The trail is not clearly marked and is fairly overgrown in places. It also mingles with wild game trails which make staying on the intended path difficult at times. Staying near the creek the whole way worked excellently, allowing our dogs the chance to rejuvenate whenever they pleased.

Be weary, however; we did find a 3' rattlesnake in a bush right next to the trail about 2 miles in. It warned me only as I came well within striking range. We unfortunately felt obligated to 'take care of' the snake, given the close call and risky location it was in. With the trail being overgrown, we advise you to take appropriate precautions if strolling through here.

Not bad. Probably not enough water for the boys. But good for me. Flowers were out in bloom.

Great hike but definitely challenging. Very steep in some spots. Tons of bugs, especially at the top. I got up there, took a few pictures and immediately started back down. Just bugs all over me. Gorgeous views all along the way and a nice sprinkling of other hikers.

Great first hike of the season! Took my mom and enjoyed the wildflowers and the views thanks to the clear, calm day. The babbling brook made it that much more charming!

Amazing views at the top! Perfect time to go is now! So many wildflowers, water was running, and not too hot out! Must pay $5 to park for the day- the discover pass does not work there. It was about 70 minutes to the top!

Great weather and trail condition. Dry trail, light rain, abundance of wild flowers. Appreciated the alternate trail for return trip, it was damp but not wet or slick, and provided some landscape change with the forest canopy over the trail for some of the trails length.

Wildflowers were JUST beginning-otherwise it was beautiful.
