Went in mid-November, road up to the trailhead was mostly clear and dry until almost to the top, where icy snow patches rested in the shade. Parking lot is moderately sized, but early arrival is better or there will be little room for parking. Nice bathroom facility.
Trail to Blue Lake nice and easy, good one for kids and first timers. Lake is beautiful. Backtrack a ways to the first .5 mile point on the trail to take the split up to Dock Butte. The sign marking the trail was missing.
Dock Butte trail is a bit harder, not recommended for kids unless they are used to hiking terrain. My 12 yr old had a rough time of it, but made it. Quite steep, lots of rocks and roots. Snow surprised us, most of the trail thus far had been almost completely clear. Harder going in the snow but doable in hiking shoes. View was absolutely spectacular. We stopped just below the summit as it got a lot steeper and icy, we weren't prepped for those conditions so we took a break and headed back. Would love to go back in the spring or summer.
