on Rock Hill Loop

We stopped here to give the dog a chance to stretch his legs on our way to Nez Perce Clearwater National Forest. It served its purpose. The trail is well maintained and there are some nice benches at a couple of points. It’s an easy gradual incline with a couple of switchbacks to the crest, then a gradual descent. We hiked clockwise and got a little confused when the trail split on the way down but no biggie. You can see the parking lot pretty much the entire time. We hiked in early September. It was pretty warm and no shade. Highway noise and dry prickly plants along the sides of the trail. But some nice views of the valley below and a pleasant enough break from the drive.
