Great hike but the waterfall was dried up. We'll come back in the fall and hope to see it then. Lots of bugs, so bring insect repellant!

It was a very enjoyable hike. I wish it was just a little better marked on where to start, but this apps trail GPS worked great.
Only down side was that the falls are pretty dry right now, but an enjoyable little climb for some adventure.
It’s down hill most of the way there, then up hill on the way back.
The ONLY way back is the way you come on the trail. Taking one of the other paths leads you off on a totally different hike.
Had a lot of fun with the family and can’t wait to take them out in the spring.

The trailhead is very confusing and there were a number of shorter trails making up the longer loop which made for a very directionally challenged hike. Beautiful walk but easy to get lost

Hiked on a very sunny day. Not the right season if you are looking for some water. The area is completely dry. Would be a peaceful walk in the woods though.

We turned around and skipped hike after I got scared away with the cougar in the area posting and then the watch out for bear posting.

This trail is kinda hard to find at first I followed the old man trail and get following the signs and eventually found it seems like all the main trails connect at some point. There are a few old mines along the way I counted about 5. You know when you are near because they post warning danger signs. This area used to be part of the Nike Missile military base, the history is on the kiosk at the start of the trail right off the parking lot.
Anyway it was a beautiful hike down to the Coal Creek falls, but there was no falls because it’s the summer months, I may come back in the fall and see if it’s a rushing fall. It was pretty easy to hike overall.

Beautiful hike, very peaceful. No running water in the summer time though! Or at least this year.

Humid and some mosquitos but the repellent seemed to keep them away.

Very quite the morning after Fourth of July. Beautiful woods to wander through. Dog loved it.

Hiked this on Mother's Day. It was a great hike. The waterfall was so pretty. Not as many people as more popular hiking spots. Definately a steady uphill for a good portion of the way. I'm a beginner with Asthma and made it. Although I did need to stop a few times for a breather. I'd hike this again. We tracked it at about 4.4 miles starting at the trailhead.

Nice hike on a sunny morning

Well maintained easy to moderate hike. The waterfalls were nice.

Loved the this park! Beautiful day and the most gorgeous waterfall over mossy green boulders. We went specifically on the Red Town Trail. Good incline on a gravel road for the first 1/2 mile or so and the fairly easy after that! Loved how this was close to home and didn’t have to travel to the mountains. Will definitely be going back!

It was easy but it was beautiful by the falls. It gets better once your are off the gravel path.

Good hike. Not too many people this morning. However, I passed 7 dogs and only one had a leash. With all the animals on Cougar Mountain, some scared the daylights out of me if they came behind. Please leash your dogs!!

Easy to access with plenty of trail space and the terrain is not rocky. A good mix of hills and straights for a beginner like myself. If you go counter-clockwise you will have an easier time at the beginning, clockwise you’ll end with more elevation gain. The waterfall was full and is a nice stopping point. Most of the terrain is standard foliage, but there were some areas with silent, moss-covered trees that carpeted the forest in a vivid green and made it more enchanting.

Good hike, worth doing, bit really not much to see other than woods... the waterfall is nice. Lots of access and short cut paths to make the hike shorter or longer.

Easy hike, would be good for young families. Moderate to heavy traffic. With all the recent rain the waterfall was very full and beautiful, but the trail was pretty muddy in spots.

Excellent hike with some trail running on the easier sections. I added the Whitaker Wilderness Peak to Wilderness Creek loop that made it 8 miles and 2500 feet elevation gain. It was a good workout.

should be listed as a 'easy' trail. Gorgeous waterfall. Go early. Lots of afternoon activity.

Went with two kids 3&8 and a dog. Had to carry the 3 year old after half way. No snow, a bit muddy in places. Moderate traffic, some runners.

Nice, short, mostly easy trail with a beautiful waterfall at the "end" of it as a nice payoff. Go on a rainy day if you want to see a bigger waterfall. During dry weather, it's barely a trickle.

Well maintained trails and a beautiful setting! Only problem is the trail heads are confusing. We pooped around several times, and while we found the swamp and the mine shaft which were great, we never found the waterfalls. Ran into a couple other hikers with the same issue, haha.

Beautiful, easy/moderate hike. Gorgeous, mossy trees, and a beautiful bridge with a dry creek bed :(
Totally dry this time of year. So close to Seattle, it's a nice little day hike.

Hiked on a Sunday evening, clockwise. Ran into a handful of hikers and one jogger. Most of the hike was pretty easy, except there were a few steep sections in the last mile or so. There is a decent view at the top. I would like to come back again to explore the falls, and maybe hike the opposite direction.

Nice trail, well groomed, enjoyed it!

9/2/2017 (Saturday) -- A hot sunny morning in a very dry season, the walk in the woods is still quite easy and pleasant. Instead of the muddy condition in most of the year, the trails are all dry, so are the creeks and falls - no water at all.

A beautiful hike for a sunny day. The trees give you just the right amount of cover so that you don't have the sun beating down on you but can still enjoy it. Some good inclines and it's great for dogs. The water falls have a beautiful eeriness to them and are excellent for breaks and photo ops.

Some parts are a steep incline but nothing unmanageable. Great place to hike with your dog.
