Absolutely awesome. This one definitely fits the bill for "hard" I think. I recommend planning an entire day here, or camp overnight at the top. Perfect balance of enjoying the forest but with a ton of scenery of the surrounding peaks throughout. Some of the parts, the trail isn't very visible but still easy to know where to go. I can't wait to do it again!

Awesome hike! Hit it at mid tide and was able to pass through. Perfect ending to an epic weekend at ONP! Oh and read about the hike before you go. There is a little stream to cross and many were angry as they were not prepared to get their feet wet.

Walked through the Shoreview/Boeing Creek Trail today. Followed several different trails through the woods. Did not enjoy being so close to the road or residential areas. Some of the trail just drops off? There was signage in different locations. Nice park area, enjoyed the dog park after our hike. Parking and Bathrooms a plus.

What a beautiful hike!

One of the most beautiful hikes I've ever done; incredible mountainous views the entire hike. Gorgeous lake, big fluffy white mountain goats. The trail becomes a boulder hill the last mile or so, so watch for the carrans (stacks of rocks that have been strategically placed to show you where to climb) or follow other hikers for the best way to the lake if you're not sure.

I didn't think this hike was that difficult. Long? Perhaps. But it's so breathtaking that every mile should be savored as you take in the views.

A beautiful, easy fall hike. We arrived around 9am on a rainy Saturday and the trail was relatively empty; found a quiet spot next to the lake to snack and hang out. By the time we hiked out, around 11:30, the parking lot was full and there were a steady number of hikers. As with most trails ... get there early! We definitely plan to return for an overnight trip.

Really enjoyed this hike. The first half is quite easy, but it gets a bit more difficult closer to the lake with a lot of rocky terrain. The views get better as the hike gets more difficult though! We didn’t hike all the way around the lake, but enjoyed a good break there taking in the views. Clouds were low when we hiked, but it was still beautiful!

Great hike to take the kids on. Gradual with beautiful views at the halfway point. Worth it!

This was my first hike and I would not classify this trail as easy. Beautiful hike.

As of today no snow on trail via the ridge, there are some parts on the ridge that require scramble experience. We tagged east and west summits, 12 hrs car to car.

Fun hike with 11 relatively new Boy Scouts on Saturday 9/22. Started hike about 12:30 PM. Parking lot fairly full. Misty, very easy hike up to the lake. The mist turned to rain in the early evening. Minimal firewood available in the immediate area. Plenty of space for tents and hammocks with tree coverage. The scouts woke up Sunday to a nice layer of ice over everything. Boots and wet clothes left out were solid. After a warm meal, we all were excited to get a glimpse of the sheep on the mountain. No sunscreen or bug repellent necessary. Hand warmers, yes!

90% of the traffic was day hikers and most not aware of trail ethics. Scouts did a great job of stepping off trail for those going up and down. We also scoured our camp spot and the surrounding area of all trash.

Great Trail..

Great hike with nice view, no bugs

Scenic trip - great trail surface. Views of the lake are stunning especially on a beautiful Fall day. I could see it being muddy if it had recently rained. We combined this along with the Washington Arboretum trail which made for a nice long walk/hike.

Amazing hike.

Did the loop that goes up Hamilton Mtn Trail to the summit -> ridgeline -> equestrian trail -> hardy -> Hamilton Mtn Trail.

It is super steep and most of the people I saw had poles. There were a lot of people with their dogs and women carrying babies in backpacks, so it wasn't TOO crazy. It is definitely steep, though. Especially near the summit (some hands required..).. and for that reason I wouldn't recommend going up the reverse route, because you'll have to come back down the hamilton side which I think is more dangerous than going up. Either way, breathtaking views, challenging hike. Worth it!

Timed this hike right as the fall colors were starting to show. Trail was steep in places but great views. One nice thing about hiking along a ski run is your view is never obstructed.

While we were exploring the Skookum Lakes area, we decided check out this trail. Short but sweet. Easy trail. Would be perfect for kids.

Awesome amount of things to stop and enjoy. Beautiful atmosphere. ThxSpokane. #PeacfulSoul

Lots of beauty here. Thimble berries still out. Fleabane daisy in bloom. It's possible to get wet in the lake water is warmer than expected. Trail is in great shape. No one was staying at the lake everyone was headed further up to alpine lakes. Great easy day hike for a picnic. The 10 mile dirt road is in fair condition with beautiful fall colors coming into view on the mt. sides. Love this place in Sept. NO bugs at this time. Frost in the morning at 31 degrees.

hiked in Cady ridge and stayed at Sally Ann lake since there is water here. we were planning to hike to white pass, but due to heavy clouds and rain we hiked down Cady creek trail. saw lots of thru hikers. even with clouds there were beautiful fall colors (Sept 21) and TONS of blueberries! beautiful hike, limited water up Cady ridge, great trail to connect to the PCT. we made it in a prius but did hit the bottom on 2 rocks.

Such beautiful scenery!! Absolutely love this walk. The looped walk has small hills that leads into a couple big hills (depending which way you go, you could be going up or down these hills). If you’re going up the hills, there’s a park up at the top and they have a water fountain and dog water area. Also, a few places to take some amazing photos. Right off the loop walk, there is also a bridge where you can put a lock on. And a body of water that is so pretty, where my kids love to look for crabs.

easy, but busy. nice woods

This was not the best hike I’ve ever been on, actually it’s one of the worst in the PNW. Regardless, there was some scenic and beautiful areas for photos. The waterfall was not worth the hike in though, when we went it was pretty much dried up and a trickle not waterfall! That’s what summer heat will do to it, I guess. There are a lot of signs to guide you. We had a hard time finding the actual location and parking area, using our GPS. We like the fact that you can choose how far you want to hike by the different entrances. We did the medium length hike, almost 7 miles with our 8 year old.

Challenging. If the weather isn’t great - there’s not going to be much of a view of the lake. I would do it again on a clear day.

We love to walk this with the kids, it’s an easy walk. Relaxing, but very busy when it’s nice outside. There are restrooms on both sides of the loop, and a water fountain. The area is flat, with one area off to the side where you can go up an elevated walkway towards the capital. When we walk this, we usually do sprints up this to get our heart rate up.

This trail is incredible. It’s is also incredibly tough in sections. The scenery is superb and quite other worldly. You will not have solitude on this trail. Rangers told us they recorded over 300 hikers on the day we went. My trail recorder said over 23 miles on this trail, so don’t believe the estimate that trails.com gives. It’s a long long slog out of the lower enchantments from the top to the snow lakes trailhead. There are several areas that drop straight down over boulders and slick rock surfaces. Aasgard Pass going up is a climbers trail. Straight up. My wife and I did the whole thing in one day. Never again! It took us from 6:45 am to 9 pm at night to get out. Via flashlight. Yes. It was worth it because the upper core enchantments is stunning. It was too long for one day though. We stopped for lunch and took our time in the upper area which might be why we were late. Long miles though! Do it!

Great hike! Not a ton of scenery, but the trail is really well maintained and it has a great balance of up and down, with a few bridges. If you enjoy the beauty of the forest, this is a must do! I would personally rate this as a moderate, and more on the lighter side of traffic since we only saw 3 other people there on a sunday with GREAT weather

Good views, challenging, well worth it!

Beautiful hike, with unbelievable views of Mount Rainier (if the sky is clear). It was not a very difficult hike, but it is very rewarding on a clear day. We got there early and there was almost no one there. By the time we left, it was packed.
