Nice easy hike with some beautiful views. Next time i go on this hike I'm bringing my dog. This hike is super pet friendly.

Great trail for those wanting a nice, relaxing stroll. Its uphill on the way to the outlook but the trail is designed to make it not seem that way. Nice distance and when raining the tree cover keeps you pretty dry.

so fortunate to have such a great hike on our doorstep...beautifully woods...lovely spots for resting and taking in the view...and then the view of Beautiful Bellingham and the lake below... Thank you !!!

Excellent short hike. Up and back in about 2 hours and the view was great. The leaves are starting to turn and it was a warm fall day.

This is a great place to bring the kids. The trail is flat and wide and runs along the water front. Don't forget to bring your suit and a towel on a hot day, you'll be glad you did.

I love this trail. It's a great trail for beginners because it's got a lot of switchbacks so the elevation gain doesn't seem too crazy. The whole trail is beautiful, the forest isn't too dense and there's a lot of cute bridges. The view at the top is great. Can't wait to do it again.

Great trail, lots of switch backs, beautiful surroundings with the blanket of ferns amongst majestic trees. The view of the city and bay from the west side is stunning and there’s also a view of Mt. Baker on the southeast side. We will return

The view is gorgeous (on a clear day) but the trail itself is not that enjoyable. Not so much that it is difficult, but rather not very pretty. There are few patches of ferns and little bridges in the beginning, but then it's just claustrophobic switch-backs amid short, dense, pine trees until the top.

Relatively flat and easy for trail running. Great for beginners and those who just want to take it easy. Awesome views and lots of spots for cooling off after running in the heat!

Several years ago this was a nice and quiet trail if you wanted to go on a stroll, now it’s so overpopulated.

Nice workout. View at the top is beautiful, you can see Lake Whatcom and the bay in the distance. Beautiful place to go to see the sunset.

Great walk/run/jog/bike ride...a few spots with elevation but doable for all people. out of shape or not

Great hike, but be prepared for hike a steady incline

Just went on this hike today and it was easy and beautiful. We had a big surprise at the end when we saw 3 big turtles resting on a log in the lake. They then dove into the water. It was such a blessing to see.

access is not the same as shown on this map the entrance off the road has been moved due to private land owner complaints. You have to take the road all the way up to the Gate and Switch trail and enter in that way or there is the Last Call to Dog Patch trail which should not add too much length as long as you know you have to go this way ahead of time.

Great hike for beginners. Gradual, steady incline of 1000ft without big roots, mud or boulders to climb over. Trail is well maintained and well marked. Nice view at the top of Lake Whatcom.

Easy out and back. First two miles are well maintained gravel and dirt. Third mile is dirt, rocks and roots but very manageable. Trail stays on the lake and is well shaded.

Great (nice and wide) trail with a meandering climb and lots of flat traverses. Nice view of Lake Whatcom at the top. Hiked it with my husband and dad. I plan to trail run it next time. Note: Mountain bikers can ride up trail but not down. There is a gravel trail down for mountain bikers.

awesome trail around lake. Beautiful scenery

Always a great hike because it’s easily accessible and scenic. On a hot day the forest canopy offers abundant shade, making for cool hiking.

Enjoyable walk around Lake Padden, 2.7 miles around..More of a woodland trail then a city trail. The Lake and surrounding views are nice.

Great signage, steady elevation gain, good terrain, great payoff at the top with view of Lake Whatcom. Very little mud even after days of rain.

Perfect with a run stroller

All up hill, but not at a terribly steep grade. The views at the top are incredible!
