Being that it was a Saturday in July I was expecting the park to be busy and it was, the main parking lot was full. I parked in the equestrian parking lot and walked the outer most trail. I didn’t meet anyone who was walking the trail and I met only 9 equestrians. Most of the trail is in the shade, perfect for a warm summer day.

great walk, lots of shade

Not stroller friendly but a great outdoor adventure. Lots of places to just sit and enjoy the lake.

The lower trail is a loop trail with boulders, rocks, roots and trees, so watch your footing. Start to the right once you hit the lake, it is well marked on this side. I started on the left side and there were no trail markings. Lots of bugs out today 6/19/19. The upper trail starts from the lower and ends at the campground. The upper trail is more of a workout. Mostly uphill.

This was a fun trail to hike with the kids. The information about the length of the trail is wrong. The top/upper trail was 1.5 miles and the bottom trail is 1.5 miles. You have to do both trails to get a 3 mile hike in. The upper trail has hills up one side, then you flatten out and come down and around the other. The lower trail along the lake is fun and a beautiful hike. There are some spots where there are a lot of tree roots you can easily trip on if you aren’t paying attention. You also have to play limbo in some areas as well as climb over a tree. Our family will be doing. This again.

Beautiful little loop. Walk not a hike. It is suitable for young children.

Quick easy trail. A good place to start hiking with your little ones. Plan a picnic and to play in the water. Fishing and Kayaking is allowed. They had rentals on the shore and you can camp there as well. All very clean and managed well.

Have a great walk with my dog

Very beautiful and absolutely beautiful weather too

Very beautiful!!!

Nice easy loop trail around the lake and it’s probably about 1.5 miles. There’s an upper loop and I believe that is the longer walk. Will do that next time. Good clean park and trails!

very good. we walk it almost every week

So my record of this shows it is only 1.3 miles around the lake. Also the pass required is a Discovery Pass. Many signs saying $5 parking and $10 parking so very confusing. Lots of fisherman clogging up the trail. Wouldn't use again.

Nice little hike. Wore the pup out :)

Nice and easy hike with great views. Puppy was excited and the kids didn’t complain.

Nice beautiful lake and great for trail run.

Just took my kids around the lake, great quick trail for them, would be good for a trail run. Picnic table and playground was nice for them afterwards. Lots of people fishing. Very nice park!

Beautiful year round hiking area.

busy but beautiful park like setting. shallow swimming and wading pools that are great in the summer

It's a park, not a hiking trail, over-crowded in the summer. If you're adventurous you can walk along the river to some interesting areas.

Nice stroll with my kids and dog.

Nice hike with my small dog. Cover from the trees makes it a little less wet. Good hills on one side, and the river rushing is wonderful to hear. During the summer, step in and get wet! Huge pro: bathrooms, and quite a few of them!

Beautiful little hike around the lake!

Good shade and safe trails but can be crowded while walking through picnic areas.

It's a short trail, but very beautiful! There is an upper trail and a lower trail. The upper trail is wider but you really can't see the lake. Lower trail does have some tree roots but very close to the lake and has many spots where you can get into the lake or fish. Great trail!!

It was a very nice trail. There is a upper trail that is for horses and is wider and not so many roots. The lower trail you do have to watch for roots. It was pretty and we got a nice workout walking 3 times around the lake. Lots of people fishing. Nice man made sandy beach for swimming. You do have to have a discovery pass.

Nice trail around the lake, different paths you can take. Watch out for horse apples ;)

Nice easy walk. You can take some of the different trails to make it longer and get off the beaten path, but in my experience they didn't offer much in the way of views. The prettiest views were found on the lower lake trail. Great for other activities besides hiking- camping, swimming, fishing... lots to do here!!

Easy walk; the bottom portion is pretty accessible for small loads but not strollers. Saw tons of people fishing. Lake is very calm, but small, so good to float in but not for exploration.
