Summited when I was 15 years old and plan to go back and do it all in one day!

Awesome route, climbed in July of 2017 and was gorgeous. Exhausting, 15hr summit day, but so worth it. Already planning my next trip back for the Kautz Glacier Route.

Summited Mt Rainier using Ingraham Direct route, instead of going around Disappointment Cleaver. A few crevasses were open near Ingraham flats. Otherwise, snow conditions were ideal. Camped at Muir for a few hours in both directions. Great hike that can be done overnight instead of three days. Time from car to car: 33 hrs. Be prepared for changing conditions in vis, wind, temp. Easy to get lost in poor vis. Many places where a slip could be very troublesome. A serious hike above Muir. Have fun!

Beautiful and challenging hike with amazing views!! If you aren’t ready to tackle summiting Rainier, Hike to Camp Muir. You will not be disappointed with the views!!!

Absolutely stunning. Climbed to the summit via DC route from July 15-17 (took a rest day at Camp Muir due to high winds on the upper mountain). Bluebird summit bid, with a few ladder crossings over some deep crevasses. Would love to climb it again! It's definitely a challenge, but if you study the route, are in great physical and mental shape, and are willing to push your limits, there's no doubt you will make it to Columbia Crest!

Did this today, absolutely spectacular views! Totally clear day, could see all the mountains. Snow was good. Went straight up and it was definitely challenging but coming down was easy. Just be careful of sliding.

Beautiful hike. Made it to panorama point when the sun was beginning to set. Amazing photography light coming down off the mountain. Lots of trail erosion due to heavy traffic and hikers not using trail etiquette. Next time Camp Muir

I am planning to summit Mount Rainier, anybody interested in joining?

Outstanding route

You would think there were trails in late June, but in 2010 snow was heavy and Paradise still had a base of about 10 feet of snow. Undaunted, with no visible trails, we had been here before and knew where Panorama Point was and knew where Pebble Creek was, so set off straight uphill in the snow! We saw others doing the same and some even were trekking up with skis and snowboards on their backs (great idea btw). The blue sky and bright white snow really made the scenery pop and hiking in snow is a great cardio workout. And when you start getting hot, you have a snowball fight or roll around in the snow. If you plant your feet going up and heel down coming down, the snow gives you some great footing. We really enjoyed it and had a blast. Try it in early June when you can get to the Paradise parking area.

Did this in early June. Followed the Skyline trail most of the way but made to just below the point because the snow was soft, unstable, and overused to make it any further. The views were amazing and you can see some other mountains in the distance, maybe Mount St. Helens. Go early so the snow is still firm.

anything on Rainer is a good time go explore highly recommend this hike

Great experience I love Rainier

The hike to base camp is fun if you bring enough water. Also be sure to wear hiking boots because you will walk on snow.

This is a must do mountain at least once a lifetime. It's epic and worth it. Even if you don't summit, it's worth the experience. Fortunately for my team and I the weather was on our side and we did managed to summit this beautiful mountain.

Still miss there. I had a wonderful winter hike to panorama point. The landscape and vegetation are different from ADK's. Walking with snowshoe is a fantastic experience with 1-2 ft snow underneath. Looking forward to coming again in summer.

Only been to Panorama Point, but hoping to get to the summit by the end of next August! I have lots of training to do!!!! So excited!

First time to the summit of Rainier with the support of the fantastic guides at RMI! Having been part way up the mountain in the past, even a new climber like me can tell you this year's low snow is way different... loads of ladder bridges, fixed lines and major routing around crevasses and exposed slopes... what an adventure! The climb up to Camp Muir is a great day hike in its own right, with a full pack, even more so. While we stayed at the guided hut, the new public shelter is impressive to say the least though remember to bring your stove, no water up here. Heading up into the glacier from there was something else... steep, long, but awesome just the same. Took around 11 hours of climbing Paradise to top (with half a day at muir of course) and a lot fewer down!
