short to medium hike. Low to medium elevation gain. Not a particularly well marked trail but not hard to figure out. 3.5 star view point at the end.

beautiful views but super narrow trails and not marked well, I recommend downloading offline maps/directions.

as for the trail; there's is not lighthouse anymore and all mosses at the top of the island, be careful with footing. My kiddos were able to hike up and my suggestion is great hiking shoes with grip!

There are difficult hikes in here as well as flat ground. Be sure to pick your trail wisely as there are about 30! The full hike around the lake usually takes a couple hours, it’s gorgeous!
There are smaller trails that can fill just twenty minutes as well.

Most of the trail is along a road but when you get to a viewpoint they’re pretty gorgeous. Also nice to have a playground at the parking lot to ensure we wore the 3-year-old out before driving back home.

Wasn’t as easy as I was expecting.. lots of downhill and uphill.. I was carrying the baby in front pack and was worried about slipping.. steep hills! Really pretty though !

Great trail that circles the lake, there's also a small cave on the northeast part.

Beautiful hike, but note you cannot complete the loop as the map indicates. Also, they might want to rename the island to Green reflector point as there is NO lighthouse there any longer. Beautiful hike with many water views. Only real challenging part of the trail is where it’s obviously no longer maintained and had to turn back

Beautiful hike, and even got to see a whale out in the distance.

nice little challenge if you're looking for something quick. absolutely gorgeous views, and tons of Moss and some wildflowers in spots.

An easy walk along a mostly paved path (some boardwalk and dirt too) but great to take a stroller. Pretty scenic views along the water's edge.

Beautiful views of water, islands and mountains - what more can you ask for?

Such a beautiful trail with lots of different options to extend your stay. View from Sugarloaf was ok, I think I just prefer the mountains.

Beautiful day, not crowded. A little muddy in spots, but manageable.

Beautiful Hike. would go again in the spring/summer to get the best sunset view. went while it was raining. So awesome

Great views even on a cloudy day. Enjoyed walking around on a Sunday and exploring the beaches. Dog friendly but be careful as there are some steep cliffs :)

Good workout & view!!! The trail is confusing though it took me about 5 outings to figure out how to get all the way to Erie. Perfect for dogs and exercise

Really liked sugar loaf, Mt Erie was to crowded. The trail system is super confusing. Get a map or take a very good picture of the trailhead billboard map. We took a wrong turn and ended up walking on the road for a bit to get up to Erie.

What a view! Nice moderate hike to wake the legs up after hours of driving. Used trails 215 to 228 and felt like that made the ascent short but inclined. Locating the trail and parking were a breeze but no bathroom from the south trailhead.

Started off at Mt. Erie Viewpoint parking area on trail 215 straight up to 228 on the left (top lookout area) then to 226 onto 225 then down 320 to Heart Lake. Great workout, steep incline, beautiful views of Mt. Erie and San Juans. Glad it was a clear day. Snow Free, muddy in some spots. Slick over the rocks

Followed the 101 trail all the way around the outskirts of the lake. Very rooty with rocks. Enjoyed the 2mile journey, not to hard of a hike but enough to raise your heart rate just a bit.

Beautiful views. Like many have said the trails on the north side of the point are really bad, potentially dangerous. They're really steep! We brought a 1st grader and a dog and fell many times. It got really bad so we turned around. Great smooth hike if you keep to the loop on the south side. Would go again.

Beautiful views but poorly marked at times

Excellent small hike that isn't too far from home. It was our first hike with our new dog and she loved it. Taking a picture of the map at the trailhead definitely helped us stay on track. Small hike but huge reward at the top!

Nice hike with great views. However- The trail on the north side of the lighthouse loop is really poor. We got lost (with GPS on) and had to scramble up and down some really steep slopes. When we finally made it out we met another group that had experienced the same thing.

Not a good route for trail running. The path separates and just goes to random cliffs and leads to nowhere, hard to stay on the main trail. Pretty views on the water though.

Beautiful year round.

Fun leisurely hike. Not much of an incline till after the lake. Lake was nice tho. Nothing crazy. Got stuck in the dark going back

Completed hike from Eagle Harbor to Eagle Cliff - spectacular view of the San Juan Islands to the west, Mt Baker to the East

Nice hike , the Erie side is more taxing than the rest of this hike.
