Very active trail, take your time and look around. Lots of butterflies, wild flowers, saw a deer, a water snake, tons of minnows, frogs, snails, and birds. Beautiful and short hike. Will be doing this again and connecting with Powell Creek trail.

Went with the Ranger, learned about the Pawpaw fruit and tree. Nice walk, some steeper areas but easy to walk.

first time here. paths are maintained with some closed. by the water the path was flooded and we had to turn back. we will return to wall all the paths soon!

Great trail to take a dog. offers a slight challenge with some hills but still pretty easy. It would be a great run spot but definitely get there early. It is near some great swim beaches and on nice days it gets packed. The pup and I probably easily added a mile to our hike due to parking. Of course that isn't a problem since we came for the hike. Also be aware there is a $10 park entry fee but if you love the parks, it is money well spent to preserve these natural areas and enjoy their beauty and all they have to offer.

Parts are closed because of nesting bald eagles. The water section isn't maintained and has a bunch of debris from the water, but its walkable. Overall not too bad.

I've Been on this Trail before and I still love it I don't much life like I did the very first time but I found different unmarked trail.

hilly but pretty views of the water

I am now in love with this whole park the trail itself was marked as “easy” and this over weight old lady would call it moderate not easy. There are several hills u have to go up, they aren’t that long but whew about killed me. Lovely woods a lot of history in that park not much led to see now but it was a nice surprise seeing what was there.

Great trail for families with older children- some steep hills, but nice views and some interesting sites along the trail. The whole park is quite nice.

Beautiful park with an unacceptable amount of trash washed along the entire shore. Literally hundreds of plastic bottles, old shoes, styrofoam etc. Not a pretty site for nature lovers.

Beautiful well-maintained trails. Saw two turtles and a flock of turkeys. Very quiet. Some trails were not open so could not see the whole thing. I would suggest fall/winter being the best time to go to avoid bugs

Hiked in late February. Nice trail wide enough for a car to drive on thru a marsh/wooded area. The great part of this trail is all the different kind of birds to see on the trail...osprey, hawks, vultures, bald eagles, cranes, ducks, etc. A half mile of the trail is following the shore of the Potomac River, which is so wide at this point it looks like a lake (only disappointing part to distract from the nice river view is the amount of trash that's washed on the shoreline). Overall, a peaceful, easy walk on a temperate, late winter day...

I came here to walk my dog and was pleasantly surprised how far away from the outside world you feel with being in the middle of the bustling Woodbridge area. In late January, there were still some leaves on the trees and the temperature was low 50s that day, so it felt like a beautiful autumn hike. I've gone three times since and there haven't been more than a couple people on the trail each time. Hidden gem of a hike!

Terrible ticks & flies in the summer, not much shade, and awful amount of debris on trail near the shoreline. This may be better in the cooler months, or for birders, but not for me!

A great hike through a beautifully wooded area that is also rich in history. Highly recommend!

Park was beautiful and well maintained. Had access to sandy beach area. We saw lots of wild life- clams, crabs, fishing cranes, etc. Trail was perfect for our senior dog.

Very easy and level hike with 100% on unpaved roads. I modified the route slightly. From the parking area I took Fox Rd to Deephole Rd to Charlie Rd back to parking. Lots of wildlife. Great long walk along shore of bay.

Leesylvania State Park is a great place to spend a day. Several hiking trails along the Potomac. Pretty easy as well, not much elevation. Beach fronts are nice and the pier is awesome. Great place!

Easy trail with beautiful views of the Potomac. Highly recommended. Many great sandy areas for my dog to go swimming. I did not see any signs requiring dogs to be leashed so I was able to let me lab loose 90% of the trail. Lots of wildlife.
