Nice historical adventure with the family. Snapped a pic with Phocohontas for the a child's memory book.

Lovely views of the creek with many overlooks. Seemed more on the easy side than moderate. If you are quiet, you can see crabs sneak out of their muddy homes. $4 to park. Nicely marked and well kept.

Nice and well-maintained area. Plenty of benches and protected overhangs. Loops mean you are always near your start point. The roadway in is nice and peaceful. Pro closes at dusk.

Description of the trails are accurate. They people who are reviewing, have misread, just like I did. Loops five through nine, are about 2.2 to 2.5 miles, with good elevations, but its loops 5 through 9, as in 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9.

I must have been on the wrong trails because I had to combine trail 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and some of the parking lot to get 2.2 miles. There was some good elevations. I am a runner, so I was running the trails and I didn't see any mountain bikes but I could see how they would want to be on the trails too - just glad they weren't because I was hogging everything. ;) Maybe all trails combined equal 5 miles? I needed to log three today so I was a little disappointed but otherwise, nice wooded trails.

Great trail. I am a runner and I am starting to get experience with trail running. I had to slow down a few times because the trail was narrow and I didn't want to slip into the embankment. Otherwise, I recommend. Good inclines. Not a lot of roots. Beautiful views.

Nice hiking trail. Not long or hard, mostly flat with a lot of bugs. Lots of sea shells to look for on the beach.

Great trail. Well marked. Hiked with 2 small dogs. Nice views with little to no traffic ( early April). Nice variations in grades and landscape.

Favorite trail in the Hampton roads area so far, but still pretty new to the area. We saw about four juvenile eagles too.

Nice trail to view marsh and creek. Didn't see much birds during this trip but could be the time of year.

I love this trail. Make sure you sign the log book! Lots of solitude and great views. Switchbacks and elevation make it just challenging enough. I have slipped a few times on the leaves in the fall after rain, so keep your footing.

good local hike. can tie this trail to others @ park Good overview of York River wetland areas.

This was a nice stroll through the woods with a few gorgeous views of the river. There were some interesting historical markers along the path which was pretty neat. There were a few easy climbs but nothing to difficult. The trail was wide and clear of debris and roots. FYI there is a $4 parking fee. I only gave it 4 stars because the first part of the trail was not well marked and I did have to back track. Would recommend.

Very pretty woods. Single lane road with no bike lane. Had to pull off the side of the road several times to let vehicles pass . If you go, go early so there is less traffic.

We actually went on another trail that formed a loop back towards the start totaling 5 miles. Nice hike through the woods and leads to a huge fallen oak tree which was cool to climb on :) If your up for more mileage consider continuing on Powhatan Forks trail. It has a few more climbs and a portion is near the York river.

This trail is actually 7 miles and it is a true, single-file hiking trail. The trail is dirt and sand with lots of roots. It was easy to follow and there are mile markers every half mile. This is designated as a mountain bike trail so you must yield to riders. After mile 3 there are 10 spots to veer off the trail to the main park path and take a shortcut back to the parking lot.

Nice short trail for the family and dog friendly. Started off next to a pond and then ventured through the woods until you reach the beach. The beach is pretty and there are lots of shells to be found. Overall, a nice day trip.

More hills than you'd expect for Southeastern VA. Very muddy in several spots. Wear good shoes. Watch out for snakes on trail.

Liked the hills on this trail, not difficult at all. Can't wait to try other trails at YRSP.

Supper short, but scenic. It is steep going down so you will be glad it is short when you go back up. I think I did this back around 2014.

Love this park! There are several trails to choose from and they are all nicely marked with maps and how long each trail is. There is even a very nice disc golf course and admission is only $3. I enjoy every visit to New Quarter.

Grade A Trail! A must ride of Hampton Roads! Real incorporates a good amount of uphill but oh so many down hills. The effort that it takes to get up some of those crazy winding hills (feels like the Tour De France gone off-road) is all so worth it when you fly down these sweeping descents. Plenty of jumps to keep the advanced riders entertained while still do able for the novice riders. PLEASE DO NOT WALK THIS TRAIL!!!! Can't count the number of times I've been yelled at for almost taking people out as I fly down these blind corners to find kids walking on the exit of the corner. This trail is clearly marked as a MTB trail, please know that if you're walking, the mountain bikers have the right of way and you are not entitled to be angered if you are hit as this is a fast paced trail. With that being said, this trail is truly excellent and if you haven't ridden it, make the effort to ride it ASAP!

Really fun to hike. Very narrow in places. I wouldn't recommend this if it's recently rained as with all the switchbacks and slopes it could be treacherous. Great views of all the scenery in the park.
