I loved this loop! The amount of beautiful and accessible waterfalls and rapids is amazing. Due to the parking lot being closed, the walk from parking wasn’t the best, but it was worth it!

Still have to park out on the road outside the park and walk in but the trail was great. Went early on Memorial Day weekend and saw three people on trail until I was off trail and was heading back to my car.

Great nature walk for kids (very approachable but reasonably challenging for 3yo) ! Has nice factoids on plaques along the way. The bridge gives a halfway (ish) point to burn some extra energy and provides connections to other trails if you want to extend. Bugs (mosquitoes) can be bad so wear / bring repellant and keep moving! And check for ticks! Roads at PW are currently closed for Covid-19 so be respectful when parking along 619. Leave no trace! Pack in, pack out! Love to our park rangers!

Great trail! Pretty short and easy, but the waterfall is beautiful. Have to walk along the ridge of the creek to get to the big waterfall. Recommend hiking boots!

Nice trail, no one else was here. Two trees were down on the trail. 5 month puppy’s first hike. Parked off of Joplin and walked the West Gate fire road to the trail head.

The trail was short, smooth and easy. It was very conducive for two toddlers to walk along for half the trip. Parking was tricky during the quarantine.

Prince William Forest Park was closed on 5/13 because of covid. Many people were parking on the main road and walking to the trails.

We just recently did this hike - just FYI for anyone doing it while you have to park on the street outside of the park, it’s 9 miles round trip. It took us 3.5 hours to do the 9 miles. Easy trail though, well marked.

It was lightly raining during our hike, so there was a bit of mud. All in all, a lovely hike with plenty of tree coverage. Nice views along the various creeks too.

Surprising hiking spot close to DC. It allowed several weekends out with 4h long walks, basically alone except for the park entrance and few people along the trails. Lots of trails running along creeks opening up to small lakes in a foresty landscape. Quite hilly and pleasant landscape, loved it and our dog too.

We ended up having to turn around early but from what we saw this trail was wonderful. It’s well marked and absolutely beautiful. Multiple well maintained bridges let you get great views of the creek. I’ll be back to finish the whole thing soon!

Easy trail, great with dogs. Barely anyone around. Very nice and quiet hike.

This was an awesome way to get out, while still being able to social distance. We initially planned for 2 miles hike but due to parking lot closure, we needed to hit 3 other trails to get to this trail. We needed up hiking 8 miles.

Great trail to go on with small groups of people. Once you get away from the trail head it gets less crowded. Definitely recommend for those that want a lengthy trail that won't be too difficult for those who aren't used to it.

Day 2 of Covid19 social distancing. No Sasquatch sightings. Nice hike- combined with Quantico Falls.

Was a nice easy Saturday morning hike. Really like PW Forest for pretty walks a quick drive from home.

Beautiful and moderate trail with some especially beautiful portions along the creek.

Started off the trail straight threw the woods by the play ground , nice to go off trail every now and then. Came up by the river for half of it , super nice and on the way back gets rocky so watch your step.

This trail is a nice mile and half loop that leads you back to the visitors center. It is very scenic and you get some nice views of creeks and bridges. The trail in general has a lot of roots and some areas are pretty muddy, just be careful where you walk. This is a dog friendly trail, and our corgi enjoyed the smells. The tail end of the walk has one major hill (not a gradual rise, but a steep one). My elderly parents struggled to get to the top. Would definitely classify this walk as moderate, especially for new walkers, kids, and elderly. The park does have an entry fee per car.

This is a great trail which ever way you walk it. If I had children with me, on a sunny warm day, I would walk it the opposite way as the river would be more interesting to them and they may not feel as tired. My picture is taken almost halfway where there are picnic tables.

Perfect trail, not overly populated. Can definitely let the dogs off leash for long periods of time before seeing another person. Beautiful river walk for quite some time. Especially nice since it wasn’t muddy at all. Nice parts that had wooden bridge features or planks put up where it obviously gets very muddy.

Great trail. Well marked and easy to follow. Mostly tree covered with sounds of water almost the whole trail. Lots of tree roots but easy to navigate.
