It may just be that we never found the actual trail. None of us are particularly good at maps; however, as far as we could tell this park didn’t offer much as far as activity and outdoor enjoyment went. Some pretty views of the water, but probably the most my dog and I got out of it was some agility training on the playground equipment. I don’t plan to try again. On a side note, lots of people fishing, great water access for boats, and a difficult-looking frisbee golf course if you’re into those sort of things.

love it

The map is misleading. It takes you to the gate by the water treatment plant. You have to access this trail through Lone Star Park. Easy hike, even on a scorcher of a day. May want to go back to go fishing.

the trail is a bit hard to find. it is in lone star lake park. we didn't make it all the way to the trail. we will go back and know where to go next time. better signage is needed. I wasn't sure I could drive my car all the way back.

Out and back, mostly dirt and gravel road. This route only has 1 trail off shoot and it's short.

Skillet made it a fast trek.

Good cool down walk after Sleepy Hole run. Sunsets across the creek/marsh and the lightning bugs made it better.

We took our dogs walking on this trail to the lake and back. Saw a couple horseback riders.
Found lots of ticks on us afterwards in 2017.

Great for fishing

I'm assuming this one is the full/extension of the other park trail. I was confused why the other was described as so short. This one, though, makes for a nice stroll outside. There's nothing complicated to it, making it decent for most any age. It does offer a constant view of the creek mostly the entire walk. Otherwise, it's basically just a flat trail with a lot of shade covering. Bugs are a slight issue depending on the humidity or rainfall.

More of a shortcut through a flying disc course that has a few views of the water. I like being outside though, so it's not as disappointing as some reviews. But there really isn't much to it. if you're looking for exercise, you're better off just walking up and down the road leading into the park and boating lot.

The trail to Lake Drummond is closer to 8.5mi out and back. Easy walk, not challenging, but worth it to see the lake.

The parking lot is about a mile drive down a gravel road before the trail starts.

Exceptionally beautiful and interesting 2 mile easy loop.

Not a trail; a happenstance path along parking lot mainly - but does have brief stroll through short woods to an outstanding view of lake.

OMG! I went earlier today with my children, the bugs where hurendous and we couldn't even partake in the journey. Hopefully I'll retry it again to see it gets better! I was disappointed on this go around!!

Great short walk for family

The trail is super straight and seems like it never ends. bugs are not real bad. its more like a bug highway, they ping right off ur head/ face and for the most part continue on their way. Bikers defiantly wear a bandanna and sunglasses to keep bugs out and keep your mouth closed. (ate a few) The lake breeze was a welcome sight as well as the view.

Nice quiet walk (for the most part), with family, through the woods.

So, the trail was nice and flat, easy to walk on. It is straight from start to end though, no varieties or change of scenery. Little boring for me. Great with dogs. I have to say the lake was absolutely stunning. Definitely go there. The long boring trail walk will be worth it when you see the lake.

Good to take your family out and enjoy being outside for a picnic. I assume alot of people ride horses here from the manure, but I didnt see anyone riding. Would make a decent bike ride, but keep in mind its flat. I would not considered this off-road (gravel).

Couldn't find any clearly marked trails.

The George Washington Ditch trail is wide, swamp/tree lined, and features a canal running along the edge the whole way out to Lake Drummond. You naturally end up walking in one of two vehicle tracks, which gives it a pretty country/rural feel, though after a couple miles you're ready for a change in scenery. Definitely go all the way to the lake because it's really remote and starkly beautiful.

Beautiful lake, peaceful walk. Even saw a bear walk onto the trail ahead of us! Nice way to spend a Sunday!

I followed the directions to the entrance to find that it has been moved, followed the signs. It was a good drive, tried like heck to find the 4x4 sign, no go, where is it?! Many boat launches. It was nice to get out to a bit of nature. Was hoping though for a little more off road action.

Easy and straight path. The view was great along the way. Admittedly, slightly boring due to the simple straight passage but the end result was great there by the lake. Saw many animals (birds, turtles, snakes) and some bear droppings.

We were also caught in a pretty bad thunderstorm and had to lay low a few times with the lightning and rain. However, I enjoyed the 8.8 mile hike (it was 4.4 there and back) and I do recommend it for a quick hike or sight seeing for nature.

Yellow flies were biting hard, so bring plenty of debt and carry water.

ran over the biggest snake I've ever seen in person with my bike, as I didn't have any room to veer left or right. Yeah I think I'm done.

over all good trail. was able to take both of my boys age 4 and 8, of course my youngest was in a bike trailer. we saw a good amount of wildlife to include deer, turtles, beavers, and an abundance of butterflies. it's roughly about 4.5 miles from the start to Lake Drummond. be prepared there were a bunch of nuisance creatures ticks, horse flies, mosquitoes, and snakes.
