Very few people (easy to socially distance without masks). Saw a deer, a number of birds, turtles, bear scat, butterflies, dragonflies, and a very nice view of the lake. Very hot. I used my entire 2.5 liter hydration pack and wished I brought more. Applied high-concentration sweat-proof bug spray in two layers and still found the stinging flies annoying. Trail is wide and flat gravel and there is a short boardwalk loop at the beginning (but very buggy). Also, stay on trail, there is LOTS of poison ivy.

Great trail but WARNING!!! Ticks galore! Walked this on 6/28 and everyone ended up covered in ticks!

Would have been a lovely trail....but the bugs decided to join in full force. Recommend long pants, long shirt, bug spray and maybe a flamethrower...

Was told this was an off road 4x4 trail. It was just a gravel road. Short ride to the lake which was pretty.

on Finger Lake Trail

Hard to find the entrance because GPS takes you too far and you wind up at the water treatment plant gates. Turn around and go back towards the fire station and the signs will show you where to enter on the right. When you enter the park area, continue driving down the paved road and park in the spot where the gravel road begins. Otherwise you will have to dodge cars the whole hike along the paved road. There were some scenic parts in the wooded section around the lake but there was a lot of car traffic and your hike is all on roads (paved, then gravel, then dirt).

Signage is terrible but I don't think it's a designated trail. I would say enter Lone Star complex and turn to the right. About a quarter mile on the right you can park at the Crane lake boat ramp. Continue walking in the same direction. The so called trail is in 3 parts. First, a gravel road. Second, it turns into a dirt road. Then it gets fun. When you get to the Finger Lake sign you can continue in the same direction or like I did off to the right. It's a great walk in the woods and adds some distance to your walk. Don't worry, you eventually end up back at the point where you made the decision to go to the left or right at the sign. Saw 2 horses, some eagles and osprey, tons of squirrels, and a lot of people fishing off to the right of the trail on various lakes.

Very straight well kept gravel road leading to a huge lake. Drive slow and enjoy the ride or walk some boardwalk trails.

Good easy fire road trail. Has sides for small hiking. Drive this road, it’s 12 miles total out and back. The lake part is just a boat launch.

Nice, well maintained trail. Very flat and easy so not a bad gig for the kiddos. At the trail head, there was a boardwalk path that was 3/4 mile long and dumped out on to the Washington Ditch path that was pretty nice.

It was a very fun trail. We saw a lot of turtles, some snakes, two deer, muskrats, and an otter family. It was very peaceful and the trail was well maintained.

Wonderful trail. My dad and I take our bikes along this trail all the time. There are many places to stop off and rest, or just to enjoy the lakes and nature. The map is misleading, since you have to enter the trail through Lone Star Lakes entrance. (entrance is right across the road from the Chuckatuck volunteer fire department)

Boring trail and long.. about 9.5 miles when said and done. The lake at the end worth the long hike. Saw lots of turtles, snakes and mammal dung. Was 80 deg day so pretty hot and not much shade. Can’t imagine doing this in the summer, but am glad I have crossed this off my bucket list.

Fairly nice path, paved road turned to gravel and then a dirt horse trail. Great views. Horse path was a tad rooty and had to dodge some poo. Only hard complaint is that the map to the trail was misleading, you have to go to the Lone Star Lakes park.

Easy, flat trail. Watch out for horse droppings.

Sadly the trail is now a frisbee golf course and although the trail sign is still there the actual trail is not.

Lovely walk very peaceful and quiet. Lots of wildlife and a beautiful view of the lake at the end. Great 57 degree day

No bugs today but loads of bear scat past the 1.5 mile mark. We enjoyed the butterflies and birds along the way.

very buggy. we brought bug spray but this trail had lots of beautiful butterflies. I took my boys [ages 10 and 9] and they got very tired after 3 miles so we turned back. the trail is straight and wide but had lots of debris. i would definitely like to try it again and make it to the lake.

I read the other reviews and I think some folks are confused. This isn’t meant to be a walking trail; it’s a paddle trail (I.e canoe or kayak). It’s a fairly easy paddle; the way out was against the current, so it was a little tough with my aluminum canoe (loaded down with our picnic gear, a nine year old and our dog). Scenic and quiet; we were the only boat on the water and the float back was enjoyable.

To get to the trail you have to go to Lone Star Lakes Park. The majority of the mapped trail is on gravel roads, but if you just follow the road to the end, there is a real trail. We saw turtles, rabbits and deer. The dog and kids had a great time! Worth coming back for some canoeing I think.

Gravel road that was good to run. I started 6:30am so I needed to leave car outside and jump over the beam to get my exercise in... saw some deers that was cool :)

Decent ride. Not difficult except for the rocks and overgrown grasses towards end of trail. Wasn’t worth finishing so we turned around. Lots of bugs. Some muddy spots. We wore long sleeves and pants but got bit through our clothing.
