HikingGreat!

Meadow Springs up to Marys Rock isn't closed. A fairly sreep climb part of the way, but well worth it.

Arrived a little after 8am, only one other car there - yes! First time with this hike. Did it counterclockwise as suggested - was fantastic. Kicked my hiney up the stairs and when arrived at the top, the canopy opened up like a gift from above - oh thank heavens as I was about to drop :) Took a left at the fire road and should have taken it all the way to the parking lot. But, no, I unfortunately made a right at the cemetery. Cool cemetery, read why they are called the 'blue' mountains. Got so lost - thank goodness there were 2 women clearing out brush about 45 mins down that trail. They gave me directions to get to back to the fire road - thank yoU! 1 hour later (down and then uphill, like I needed more uphill after the stairs), I was back on the fire road - Hallelujah. Was never so happy to see my car in the parking lot! Amazing hike, would do it again in a heartbeat. Notes: Google will take you directly to the parking lot. Do the trail/stairs, not the fire road first. When you get to the top, take a left at the fire road and follow it ALL the way to the parking lot. Oh, and bring bug spray if you're wearing shorts.

Very challenging but so worth it at the end. The fire road back was pretty long but the incline was worth the views. My dog had a few hard moments but we made it through. Would definitely recommend!!

As others recommend, go counter clockwise, which takes you up the stairs. Really enjoyed this trail. Even after driving past a number of private properties on a gravely road, once we stepped onto the trail, we already felt like we were in the wilderness. The first steps on the hike set the scene with a quick jump over a little creek and deep foliage all around you. About a mile in, you’ll see a quaint waterfall to your right, and you’ll be following that waterfall’s path back all the way up the mountain. As you make the hike and rock scramble up, you’ll see numerous cascading falls, wild flowers, and wildlife. About 2.5 miles in, you’ll reach the top of the falls, and hit the hatchbacks and climb to the fire road. You’ll turn left on the fire road, and about a half mile down, you’ll reach a little path to a rock with an overlook. That’s the best overlook of the hike, but you’ll still be walking that ridge for a bit with other chances to see the tops of the peaks around you. You’ll make your way back down that road until you reach the parking lot and complete the loop. The road is a pleasant stroll surrounded by pine, maple, oak, and other trees, that creates an enjoyable atmosphere to breath and appreciate the clean air and wilderness that surrounds you.

Not a difficult hike at all. Great panorama at the top. Recommend bringing a picnic and enjoying the views.

Absolutely beautiful views at the top! We got there early-ish to try to beat the crowds. We only saw about 4 other people at the summit around 9:15, and by the time we headed back down (around 10:15am), it was definitely getting busy. Highly recommend - the view at the top is stunning, but I would definitely get there early.

Decided to take Weakley Hollow up and back because Saddle Trail was so crowded with people. Got there ~8:15am on Saturday morning and snagged a spot in overflow parking. There was a fairly long line to pay the entrance fee at the trailhead. The route itself was very straightforward. Steep, steady incline that eventually became quite challenging. The summit was beautiful and definitely worth the pain. Lots of large boulders that were fun to explore. Definitely recommend hiking poles!

Mary's Rock is great and normally the trail would be fine too ... but quarter of the trail between Skyline drive and 211 is closed because of that plane crash on Sept 2 I guess. Way back to the car will not be fun.
