Just a heads up! Stopped by today and there was a sign saying that the trails are closed for the hunting season. Better safe than sorry.

Nice trail. Beautiful day.

Completely wooded trail, some rocky parts, some sandy. Saw some thru hikers and a few families with dogs. Hiked in mid-August, no wildflowers. The “overlook” doesn’t have a trail or marker, and there was no view when I hiked it. Maybe in fall and winter there is a view. Nice hike!

Large area to explore! Shady and relatively flat. Well maintained.

great little hike. well marked trails. in the trees so its shaded. pretty little creek. a little muddy in parts. also used by horseback riders so watch for poop. comprised of a lot of short trails so you can make the walk/hike as long or short as you want.

Great beginner trails for running. A little muddy and a few creek crossings -- my feet got pretty wet on the way back. The blazes/markings aren't always clear on the connection from Farmstead to Woodthrush. At the first historic cabin, we took a right onto the Little Turtle trail, follow it to Arnold trail and took another right, which connected to the Woodthrush loop. Headed back the way we came and back onto Farmstead, which ends in a loop.

Wood Thrush and Farmstead loop are great trails, as are all of the trails at BRCES. Especially nice to have the creek crossings on 90+ degree days.

Nice secluded trails, relatively well blazed. Not a whole lot of elevation change. Farmstead to Little Turtle to Arnold to Legacy Loop back to Arnold to Old Bridge to Farmstead to Parking took about 3 hours and 6 miles. Went in after rain and the river crossings were fairly high, but manageable with gaiters and waterproof socks. Little Turtle & Piney Run: fairly deep crossing (over top of gaiters). Arnold Trail & Sweet Run: nice Eagle Scout bridge from 8/2018. Old Bridge Trail & Piney Run: not crossable on trail - had to bushwack around to a fallen tree to cross Piney Run. Overall an adventure!

The sign for the piney run loop was down and we didn’t see it until we returned via that loop. Creeks were too high to cross so will have to return. The gps was not showing me on the dotted line trail and there are other trails in this area that are not on the All Trails app which can cause confusion. I had to use the center’s maps to assure my location.

Timber and I had a nice afternoon walk

Great trail for a quiet, easy hike through a nice mix of habitats.
