Great trail. We did it in a stock 2018 Jeep Compass Trailhawk and she handled well all the way through. Never got stuck. Rocky in spots but nothing that a stock vehicle can't do.

Trail is not open year round. It's closed mid January to mid in March. Check before you go. The trail is an easy experience for the beginning offroader and can be run in a stock, or even an AWD vehicle with some clearance. Run the trail in 4lo if you have it to keep your speed down to make the ride less bumpy and so you're not on the brakes a lot.

Nice drive for the first time out in our new Jeep. We drove about half way and will try from the other direction another day. There has been no rain for weeks so conditions were dry.

Great trail - quite challenging for a stock Land Rover LR4. Very rocky on the posted alternate trail (damaged the side wall of all terrain tires). Mud holes in the upper portion appeared approximately 18-24” deep at worst as of mid-October. Great dispersed camping at Big Levels at the bottom of the trail. No facilities but lots of privacy in sites spread out along the access road.

good place for off road i like

Testing the new truck's 4wd. Wouldn't have brought it here but no rain lately so no mud. Just rocks. It was a blast! The trail should be one way only. Somebody will need to reverse to get to a spot to pass. Of course, pinstripes will happen!

This is not an open offroad trail. Its private property offroading only when they have special events for. This place is for camping and they have other activities hiking, swimming, snow tubing etc.

This was a great trail! It was our first time in our Jeep. Our Jeep is not stock it has an 18” lift and all terrain tires. I am convinced this is why we made it today. There were about 4 9”-18” deep puddles the last of which we almost got stuck. There a couple of places you can go around the puddles. I don’t think it would be good to take this trail on with a stock Jeep.or other vehicle. Have fun! Ohh we took the doors off the Jeep today... in hindsight not the best move but we had a great time. Total time was 2.5 hrs. We camped at devils backbone...which is great location!!!

rode this yesterday, Sept 19, Nice trail did not know yoiu had to get pass and pay. if you enter from edinburg city direction yoiu can get pass at exon or shell station. Rode with stock 4 runner TRD pro, was fun first trail in new truck. Some mud spots, fun. Be careful, tore up my nerf step on a rock...lots of rocks but not too big to handle. lot of ATVs it was Sat, wiould be nice during week with less traffic. all in all will do it again.

Went last Saturday, Great trail, took longer than expected to get through but well worth it. It was a little bit overgrown but that’s the life of off roading and the chances you take. Some of the water holes are great to go through but be aware of what you can’t see, those holes are deeper than you expect. FYI, if anyone finds a license plate UYZ-9*** that would be mind as I’m pretty sure I lost that at the bottom of the 4ft deep water hole. But again the chances you take. Over all I recommend this trail for slightly experienced crawlers. Had a lot of fun.

Challenging trail. Rocky and many additional obstacles to challenge Crawlers. vehicles must be street legal. Pavement princesses and Mall Crawlers best avoid it.

The OHV trail was nice. Took an 07 F150 lifted 3 on 35's and it was a good ride. One end of the trail is pretty overgrown, might have to have someone go in and do some pruning.

This was my second time on this trail, went this past Sat-Sun, the weather this time was certainly more appropriate as it was warm and everything had grown back. It had rained the day or so before so any holes were full of water up to our doors. If you like your paint job, this definitely isn't the trail for you, however it's got it's fair share of minor to moderate rocky terrain. Vehicle on the trip this go around were my 07' FJ Cruiser 3"lift 33.5" off road tires, 10' Jeep Wrangler minor lift 35" off road tires, 99' Tacoma SR5 3RD with off road tires. All three vehicles traversed the terrain with no issue. However the Tacoma's alternator fried after the mud holes, so be careful. There are some places to camp out, with enough space to set up tents. This is a fun day trip or weekend trip. Enjoy!
