Short nature walk to amazing views. Good for kids and those with mobility issues.

Great views and easy to get to them! We hiked this late February and the trail conditions weren’t bad. It was a little icy at some parts but easy to get around.

It’s not well marked unless you know to look for the fire road. There are gates in front of it. It starts out very easy & gets more difficult as the incline increases. Parts of the path are very narrow. You have to scale a bunch of rocks at the end but it’s not difficult. Once you get to the overlook it’s beautiful!

I took my family here today and it was great! The parking lot was packed but w everyone was spread out enough on the trail. The trail is paved and was perfect for my young girls (8, 2, 1 yrs old). The view at the end is amazing.

Super fun trail that’s actually 6 miles not 5.3 as the app says. Didn’t matter, after a mile and a half on the fire road, which does get your heart rate up and past the charred trees (on the left going up), it becomes a very nice trail. We hiked 36 hours after heavy rains so there was constant water across the road. Previous reviews were very helpful at the two intersections. The purple markings to head to Stricklers Knob are a bit difficult to start on, but well marked all the way out. The rock scramble was great and definitely not for dogs. Views at the end were phenomenal.

I highly recommend this trail. The views at the top are great. start with the yellow trail and then you get to an intersection and you continue straight on an orange trail. Make sure you continue straight. at about 1.9 miles there is another intersection and this is when you need to make a right to go to the strickler knob trail. pay close attention to the pink trail markings on the rocks and the occasional red trail marks on the trees. And thank you SO much to whoever put the pink trail markers for the strickler knob trail.

GREAT Workout w/ 2 GREAT Rewards! Double Knob is not a place.. Someone made a typo... should say Duncan's Knob :) Parking is a challenge + some areas on the initial incline are wet & muddy & rocky. You likely need to arrive before sunrise to ensure a parking spot. Duncan is a massive rock scramble near the top. Stickland has nearly 360 degree views + don't forget the side blue / purple trail for 2 impressive views east. Strickland trail off of Massanutten trail is hard to locate initially upon arrival. Oh, and the map here is wrong... someone obviously had their phone turn off and restarted between the Duncan to Strickland "straight line" LOL Video: https://youtu.be/k3SW7FnDXeY

It is an okay walking trail. No overlook and not a lot to offer for a hike. I didn’t like that you have to cross two streets and have to walk through a parking lot to get to the “overlook”. Will not be doing this again, but it is done.

3.2 mi section hike Hogback- Jeremy’s Run/Elkwallow picnic area. AT SOBO, downhill!!

easy trail. all gravel. great for kids. lots of down trees but nice and even. Hiked on a Thursday afternoon late, saw not one single human being...

Great views, and a smooth trail surface except for the back half which is rocky in some places and maaaaaayyyybeeee some folks aren't into that.
