Nice and easy. Shaded all the way through with pretty woodland scenery. We didn’t see any eagles or hawks at the lookout point at the end of the trail but it was still a nice light work out.

This is an easy short hike from the road down to Kane's Creek. There's a lovely bird watching spot overlooking the marsh at the end of the trail. Watch for frogs coming and going along the trail!

Walked April 2020. This is a super pleasant 1.3 mi paved flat walk. The trail is nicely paved, went on a rainy day and there were no sitting puddles. This is a great stroller or wheelchair ride. There is a bit of clearance on each side of the walkway, so you can distance as needed. There are also benches evenly spaced throughout the walk. At the end there is a little boarded overlook out to the water. The area is beautiful and you get several different views as you walk. It is also a bird famous bird watching area where you can see eagles (there are pamphlets on the way in). This path is dog friendly and our pooch enjoyed the various smells and leaves and stumps to inspect on the side.

Super fun, mostly easy trail for hiking and mtn biking. My daughter rode her bike and my pup and I ran after her. We parked at the Workhouse, the end of the lot on Workhouse Rd and then followed the trail gps to the trails.

Nice easy family hike

Mostly paved trail except about 9 to 12 on the loop. Easy but also close and assessable. Parrallels the CCT briefly

Nice, easy hike. Dogs loved it.

I would recommend this trai to anyone loving nature, water trees and amazing sight over the waterfalls. Requires some leg strength for steep climb to do.

Nice light trail. Not paved but gravel. Lots of horse shit scattered.

A picturesque 3-mile unpaved trail that loops through a hardwood forest, over small streams, and along a marsh. There is an observation platform with a telescope overlooking a marsh teeming with birds—we saw a bald eagle hunt for fish! This was the first national wildlife refuge established to protect bald eagles.

Look for shelter #3 for a hike that is not on the map! It’s marked in blue. Solid trail if your short on time and want to give a quick nod to nature. A little hilly but good footing throughout. Great hike for the family in the shade. Saw some deer and the trail ends Along a creek. ...John M

Really enjoyed this trail. It is catered more towards mtn biking (with all the little bumps made) but it’s a maintained trail and easy to follow. Looks like there are a bunch of ways to go, which means I’ll be back! Although watch your step my dogs and I had a close call with a snake, ready to strike.

Easy fast trail that drains better than any trail I’ve ever riden. Well maintained by Mike the Marine! Go Mike!

Noisy, no shade, factory, not fun for hikers. Probably great for bikers

This is a nice trail system that offers a variety of views and optional directions to take. From the first intersection of Mustang Trail and Thompson Creek Trail we went left. The trail meanders through the forest and at one point you get a nice view of the creek. This hike was on 1.12.2021 so the views will likely be different in different seasons. There are a couple of water crossings, all of which have permanent bridge structures or are easily crossed on rocks. Once we got to the Thompson Creek and White Tail Ridge Trail intersection, we took White Tail. This takes you to a higher elevation and deeper into the forest. (The Thompson Creek Trail would cut some time off your hike. It continues down to the creek and skirts the creek which is a nice view). We eventually looped back up to the Thompson Creek Trail leading us back to the Mustang Trail and back to the parking area. All trail intersections are clearly marked with permanent signs and the trail itself is well-maintained and easy to navigate. There are some muddy areas after a good rain. And there is horse traffic, more or less depending on weather, etc. The app marked our hike complete at 2.7 miles (just before we got back to the Mustang Trail/Thompson Creek intersection). Actual mileage starting at the Mustang Trail trailhead at the parking lot and back was 3.2 miles.

A nice trail for a walk in the woods. Today, 1/11/2020, the trail was in good shape. A few slightly muddy areas from rain last evening. At Eagle Point we could see Tundra Swans (appx. 80) and a variety of ducks (Black, Mallards, Shovelers). We continued on and did the entire loop. It was a warm morning at 63F. It is not a strenuous hike, suitable for most fitness levels I think.
