Hiked the orange trail with our 3.5 year old, he had no problems or issues at all. Fun trail, fairly secluded considering we went on a weekend mid-July. Mostly shaded. Unfortunately not much of a view at all, but the historical aspects that you come across are rather interesting.

trail running

My favorite local trail. I go on trail runs here and find the difficulty to be moderate. One steep hill. Sometimes slippery after rainy days. Not busy on weekdays.

Very nice short little hike. Surprisingly nice for being so close to Leesburg!

This short hike in the woods offers a pretty nice view of the Potomac. The trail was muddy in some places and had some trees to hop over. It was fun overall.

Fun little path. A couple of optional paths as well if you want to mix it up after doing the main path. Some downed trees you have to go over or under when we went. 4 year old handled it no problem. Some vertical areas and can be slightly slippery when wet. Fun path. Took an hour total. Will come back again.

Nice easy trail, some elevation changes but nothing our 3 year old couldn't handle. Mostly shaded, not busy at all. Could be pretty muddy after a rainy day.

Compared to Raven Rocks this is an easy trail. However if you’re looking for a nice trail and don’t feel like hiking up and down a rollercoaster I’d recommend balls bluff. It also has a beautiful view of the Potomac river and many trials as well as history.

Great view of the river. Liked the safety fence because we had a 3 year old with us and the ruins were an added surprise.

Really loved the trail. Really beautiful

A few steep parts, and fallen trees, made the trail a little hard to follow

White trail was nice. Two kids 7 and 3 were able to do it with some help on the steep parts. It’s very pretty if take the path down to the water.

Love it!!

Nice trail in an unexpected location. Some steepish sections in and out of ravines. It was slippery in spots the day I was there due to wet leaves. Some trees still down over the trail from winter storms, but not difficult to climb over or go around. Some lovely river views from the bluff.

Orange trail is easy 1.7 miles. Is well marked and includes an overlook of the Potomac River and passes by a Civil War cemetery. Relaxing hike with only slight elevation gains/losses.

Great hike. I went with my kids (6 and 8). Perfect distance for them. Some elevation changes and views of the river. We strayed from the white trail onto orange which had quite a bit of thorn vines. Saw a few other hikers and a few runners on a mid November day.

Huge park but the trial is disappointing if you like to walk and see something else that just clean short grass

A nice and easy trial. Very pleasant under in the forest and beside the Potomac. I recommend for a family time. Only bad thing, in 1 hour all is done!

Nothing really interesting to see there.
Easy walk. In 2 hours all is done if you walk slowly.
Good for family with kids, people with dogs, old people...

steep hills but nice shady trail.

Nice trail for a short hike. Mostly easy but a couple moderate, somewhat challenging areas (I only did the white trail) but these are very short. Nice views of the river up high and then a little walk along the shore.

Very nice trail. Starts off with a good uphill leg. Nice shady cover!

It is not an easy trail
There are some steep incline and declines
It is a fine short walk otherwise

Most of the trail is a real quiet escape from the city.

Good place, good set of trails easy access to goose creek. Few changes may make it better on the trails, they have the names on some poles but after that you don't know what trail you are, colors is a better system as you can mark the trees but with names isn't that easy AND... is only open in weekends, still a good place to go.

Easy trail but too many younger just hanging around in the trail, in my opinion safety could be an issue. I hope l am wrong and was just that day that I visited the trail.

A beautiful little park with some History to read on your walk. Great place to go with pups but check for tics when done.
have been walking here for years. Go with someone, not a place to go alone.
very easy hike.
