The Winchester Green Loop hasn't been completed and ends at mile 4.63 and is actually going to be 6.31 miles in length. The trail is well-marked and follows city sidewalks much of the way. It passes many points of interest, such as Oldtown Winchester, Abram's Delight, and the Abrams Creek Wetlands.

We were able to complete the unfinished loop by using the sidewalks on Jubal Early on the way back to our parking point near Shenandoah University.

Upon the trail's completion, this will be a fun, quick, and easy urban hike.

Great hike even with all of your children....we hiked as a family and loved every second. Beautiful view as well.

trail is clearly marked, nice for a short, day hike. would definitely go again!

Pretty easy hike. There's a couple steep hills, but nothing too strenuous. There's not much to see, so it drags a bit. Not sure if someone else covered this, but you take two other trails from the parking lot to get to the trail. It's a good trail if you're just trying to get some miles in.

All types of trails rolled into one hills, flats, views.
Had different views at different sections of trail. Vista views from high points, River views, Lake views, and beautiful views thru the woods.
Trail was marked very well easy to follow and well maintained even after a bad wind storm. Will be returning in Spring, Summer, and Fall to enjoy this park and trail system.

It's got your ups, your downs, your turn arounds. Nice easy short walk in the woods. Bluff over lake is great.

Map on the trail is upside down in some places but other than that an excellent running trail!

Great easy trail. The path is easily identifiable with clear directional markers.

Good trail, I took my kids they had a lot of fun. Not crowded pet friendly

Not bad except for the highway being right next to you.

Terrific! Beautiful views, a great path surface, and a bit of elevation change every once in a while to keep you honest. This is a walk/hike that provides you with great water views as you walk in a forested area; a rare combination!

loved it hiked the blue to the red and back tracked down the yellow ,we did it with my 9 month old ,very shaded peaceful hike

Beautiful trail! I went with my family around the whole loop and we had a lot of fun. However, we couldn't find the vending machines like on the map and some of the paths were poorly paved. Despite this, I still highly recommend it to families.

Great loop around the lake. Beautiful views. It made for a great run connected with otter creek trail.

This is a nice trail the water is beautiful and give off a nice breeze. However this trail has a lot of roots and should not be considered wheelchair friendly (not that we were using one just for reference)

The trails are so well marked, it’s easy to combine for extra mileage, and fun to remember your color order(red, blue, red, purple, red, orange etc) nothing particularly challenging but it’s neat to see how different the vegetation can be on the different trails.

We were expecting more of a challenge. It’s a pretty hike with some old houses that are interesting to explore. Our biggest challenge was crossing the river but only because it rained the night before, under normal conditions I think it would be fine.

could not find a way across the canal

I tagged this onto the Osmanthus Trail. Lovely walk that takes you through swamps, forests, and beachside. This would be an easy trail run. Highly trafficked, but there are numerous benches strategically placed along the water portion that provide a peaceful view and some privacy. Definitely a good place to think. I wasn't excited about the Cape Henry Trail stretch as it was more road-like than trail with a lot of biking and runner traffic, so I used it as an excuse to pick up my leisurely pace to a quick-walk back to the parking lot.

Rode my bike from 64th street entrance to Shore Drive entrance and back ... roughly 7 miles ... nice smooth trail ...

The trail does not connect the way it is shown on the map. It dead-ends resulting in 4 miles of backtracking.

Great all around trail. You can start in different directions for diversity. I have walked if plenty of times and I look forward to running it.

Very nice trail, always see people on it but it's never too crowded. Saw a bald eagle first time on this trail so I'll definitely be back!

Most of the trails are wide and very noticeable but others are very narrow and look almost like a deer trail. If you're not paying attention you could get lost. There was quiet a few places to sit and rest, that was nice! I wouldn't go back in the middle of summer because I can imagine there being lots of critters you don't want to run into.

Trails are great. To bad we went after a week of rain so most of them were washed out. Would definitely go back and try again on a more dry week. Lots for the family to see. My little girl loved it and had a blast.

Excellent trail. Great for all fitness levels. Great place to walk with your dog or run if you're looking for more of a challenge.
