The best views are from the scramble. Not too hard but very rewarding

Easy on the length of it. Moderate on the rocky/scramble part. It might be harder for shorter people to get over some of the rocks. Fantastic views!

First scramble and it was great! But we saw a lady with a very young baby carried on the front... and this trail is absolutely NOT safe for people carrying babies you need your hands. Was very nervous the entire time behind them :(

Magnificent trail along the gin-clear creek. Small waterfalls, beautiful forest setting amongst laurels, pines and deciduous. A little wet in areas where springs cross the trail. Well marked. Swimming hole is a bonus!

Great trail! We did go while it was rainy, which did make the scramble a little more difficult but it was really fun!

Awesome trail. About halfway through the loop, the blazes changed to flags on trees (maybe I missed the blazed trail?) and I was in the very middle of the loop according to the map. It met back up with the blazes eventually, though, and was a lovely ramble!

We hiked the short version starting out from the Fridley Gap Trailhead. My favorite section of the hike was before we even started on the loop, which was the swollen Mountain Run along Fridley Gap Trail. I can see the appeal of just camping out in this early section. After that the views were mediocre, but had a little of everything from vista views of the I-81 corridor and a few more stream. The blooming wildflowers did make the most unremarkable sections more enjoyable. I highly recommend this trail!! I could adventure back here everyday!! It is a moderate hike that follows a stream, you have some nice small waterfalls and water holes for swimming, a few camping locations! It is moderately traveled but very dog friendly!!!

Not great. Unrelentingly rocky. Went clockwise and while the stream was nice the climb up 419 was brutal. Would have been decent it wasn’t so rocky, had to play closer attention to avoid ankle twists which took away from outdoor enjoyment.

This is steady grade. Definitely a good trail to run. Nice view. Would do again.

Great quick segment to a beautiful view. I would park on the grass then walk to trail. also take the trail about .2 miles further for a way better view.

I love this trail for a quick calorie burn and beautiful view. I continued past the vista to add some mileage.

Very straightforward - 1.5 miles up and 1.5 down. Pretty solid incline and very well maintained. Can also continue beyond the peak if you take a left at the top. There is a gradual descent with some pleasant views I'd highly recommend tacking on an extra mile.

good hike. a little rough in spots with steep hills and loose rocks

Great trail. The oversized boulders with green moss were beautiful. All uphill at first until you get to the overlook. Well worth the uphill climb.

Gorgeous view, very worth the uphill hike!

I am an experienced hiker and I would rate this more as a difficult and not moderate. I would not recommend with kids since the scrambling can be quite dangerous or too hard for them still a great hike and spectacular view
