Challenging great hike!

Great rainy day hike. Some rocks but definitely manageable and not too slippery. If it was a clear day it would probably be one of the best trails in the area. It wasn’t crowded at all, nice challenge, and the views would be great on a clear day.

The first mile is all uphill but after that fairly easy trail with a lot of openings that probably have great views, it was too cloudy/rainy to see anything today.

Loved this hike! Challenging and very rewarding when you reach the view!

Great hike and definitely worth it for the quiet overlook. The elevation difference is no joke and we had to stop a few times because I couldn’t catch my breath. I loved how quiet it was, we saw nobody while we were there except some campers at the bottom of the trail. Make sure you have bug spray and good shoes for the rock scramble

Good hike, all up hill then right back down. Several small, steep rock scrambles add some variety to the trail and a good view from the overlook (where you get a nice view of nearby Big Schloss).

I thought this was a great hike. I have to admit, I like Big Schloss more. This trail was moderately difficult. I think it rained a bit overnight. The rocks were very slippery going up and especially coming back down. The view was beautiful at the top. On a Sunday morning, I didn't see a single soul on the trail going up until I got to the overlook. Continued on past the overlook and didn't see anyone else either until I looped back around. Good hiking shoes and plenty of water is recommended. I can't wait to come back and camp at one of the primitive sites along the way!

Awesome hike. We did Big Schloss first, walked back to the car and refilled water, then camped at Tibbett Knob. Don't let the short mileage fool you, you will feel the elevation gain on this one. The scrambling at the end is pretty minor. It's got a few awesome backcountry campsites and tons of side trails leading to private viewpoints of the overlook. The overlook is an excellent place for star gazing and photography! Bring your own water.

Two amazing views, a mostly uphill experience.. Spent 8 hours on the whole trail including time for pictures.

Paired this with Big Schloss for a 5 star rating. Just over 8 miles and over 2000 feet. Tibbet Knob has more solitude but the views on Big Schloss are better. Start with Tibbet and move to Big Schloss for the better payoff. Views are north and westerly for planning photos.

Combined Tibbet Knob Trail with Big Schloss Trail for a 7.5 mile hike with 2000 ft elev. gain. A good workout. Highly recommended.

Wear good shoes. Not suitable for children. I fell about 8 Times. Some areas are strictly rock. Beautiful summit go up further than the trail says.

Had this trail mostly to ourselves. The overlook is one of the best views I've come across so far, absolutely beautiful.

Nice trail - it's long but a lot of it's pretty flat. I did it as an overnight. There are plenty of well maintained campsites along the way. I'm not a big fan of ending a hike with a 3-4 mile stretch down a road so if I were to do this again I'd park at the head of the yellow trail (Stoney Creek) and head back to the little schloss (purple) trailhead. That way you do the big stretch of gravel road at the start.

Hiked it with my dog. The rock scramble near the top was fun and well worth the view.

Views: 4/5. Rocky outcropping at the top gives a beautiful view of the bowl to the South. There were a surprising number of flies and hornets at the top, but other than that was quite nice.
Solitude: 5/5. Saw two other hikers on the trail on a beautiful, sunny Sunday morning.
Difficulty: Medium. Steep at times. Rock scrambles were short and moderately challenging.

Great for a solo hike because it isn't as popular as its sister hike, Big Schloss. I went in March and didn't see a soul. 2 beautiful overlooks. 2 small rock scrambles. I wouldn't consider it a hard hike. perhaps hard for a dog or small children.

We had a great time hiking this trail. The first mile was a bit tough with a 1 year old in a pack. It was all worth it once we reached the top.

This was fun and fairly easy. My six year old got a little tired on the way up but the nice flat portions and views made up for it.

Trail is in rough shape. Lots of downed trees and rough terrain.

Fun little hike; stopped off with the boyfriend and dog on our way to a cabin. The trail is rocky, which we liked. There are three rock outcroppings with a nice view at the top. Best part was we didn't encounter a single soul on this trail, even though the parking lot it shares with Big Shloss was packed!

Great afternoon hike, perfect for kids and dogs. Creek runs alongside the trail (which is a washed out road really). Very rocky, and full of thorny bushes so dress appropriately.

Trail seems to go forever up and up and up and then at the end you go up LOL I enjoyed it

Do not recommend this for kids, it is very very steep and there are sections of the trail that are complete rock/narrow paths on the edge of the slopes. Not very scenic but overall is a good challenging hike, I brought my dog he did just fine.

Great hike. Would not suggest for families. The rock scramble at the end can be a bit tricky. The views are well worth the effort!!!

I've been going on this hike ever since I was a kid! The first half is an easy trail leading to a beautiful rocky half-way point. The final ~30 minutes of the hike is very steep. Finally, you'll reach a campsite area and an opportunity to climb over a large boulder to see a fantastic view of the valley. Always fun, and there and back in just a few hours.
