We hiked out via the Hollow Trail and back on the Little Yellow Trail, connecting via a piece of the Fire Trail. Near where the Hollow Trail meets the Fire Trail, we took a detour outside the park that led to a peach orchard. Light trail, easy or moderate hiking.

I was looking for something to scratch the Shenandoah itch (because covid closure). For someone like me that lives in the lower VA foothills this did nicely. Nice intense little trail and the locals are lucky to have such a nice park.

Good trail. Lots of muddy and watery parts. Beautiful still.

What a great trail. Well marked beautiful scenery Blue Ridge in the background...Found this place because the BRP and skyline are closed thanks to overzealous authorities....But it’s quite nice they also have a swimming pond and a fishing pond stocked with trout!

Short and sweet

We weren’t able hike since the area was closed on Sunday.

Short fun trail, well maintained. Little rock scramble at the top.

This was a great trail but please be smarter than i was :) The 2.5 trail is one way- according to my Apple Watch total was 5.1 miles from beginning to marker and back! But the dogs and I loved it. It was beautiful and the weather yesterday was great!

Nice trail. Easy to navigate. Uphill most of the way. Beautiful views at the summit.

Great short hike and the summit view is awesome. There are overlooks along the trail that are also great views. The trail is well worn and the summit gives a chance for scrambling over some large boulders. This is a very popular hike and the parking lot gets full.

Trail was in good shape and well maintained. Couple downed trees but easy to step over. Although easy, rocky terrain made it a little uneasy for a novice hiker and a baby in our untested Osprey Poco AG. Good little up and back though with a cool cave and some great rocks to scramble out to for photos.

Great trail for beginniners. Very nice view at the top. Trailhead starts across the road from the parking lot.

Great short trail. Not too tricky, gentle inclines, some rock scramble at the top. Very nice day in February, not cold, not crowded. Hung out at the top for quite a while enjoying the views. Will do again.

Nice trail. Easy hike and pretty views.

I love this trail! Going during winter time means less foliage and able to see more views. It was foggy and wet though. Be sure to go out on the rock scrambles and outcrops—gorgeous views!

Misting during my hike with my hiking buddy. Only saw one other hiker with their hiking buddy.

Did this one on an unseasonably warm (67F!) late December day, it was gorgeous - all the benefits of being able to see through the bare trees, without the cold! If you do it anticlockwise as I did, you have a docile first couple of miles then a long 3.5 mile slog of sustained elevation gain; going clockwise would probably feel easier overall, but you leave yourself with more work to do in the last few miles. I had done Turk Mountain on its own before but it’s definitely worth adding it in here for the views and the summit satisfaction.

Sugar Hollow is a kind of homecoming. Whatever the season, it offers new wonders every hike. Following the river up to the waterfall, you retreat further and further away from humanity - the only sounds are the water rushing over rock and the breeze up in the pines. Today, we saw a huge old heron take flight from its fishing spot! An amazing trail for dogs, but definitely expect to get your feet wet.

Lovely! Well marked, fairly crowded but considering it was Saturday around noon not that bad. Couple of rock scrambles you can climb out on for good photo ops.

Nice hike through the woods and good visibility with the trees "undressed". No bugs - yeah! Start out on the AT trail and when you reach the concrete marker, hang a right onto the Turk Mountain trail. There is writing on the marker but it's pretty tiny. Trail is fairly narrow, covered in small/medium sized rocks and leaves. Downhill for about .5 mile then uphill to the lookout. There's not a lot of room at the top so on a busy day you may have to wait your turn. Beautiful views! We both enjoyed the hike ... 59 year old active woman and 70 year old fairly active man. Seems to be more a moderate than easy trail. Took us 45 minutes up and 45 minutes down - with stops for pictures.

I took my 9 and 12 year thinking it was easy, and I’d say it’s more moderate. However- the kids did it and were fine with it so maybe I’m the only one whining! Nice and rewarding views on top.

Awesome trail in southern end of Shenandoah National Park. Moderate difficulty with great panoramic westward views from the summit. Several scenic switchbacks leading up to the top. Plan for about an hour ascend, and 30 minutes descend.
