It was ironically parallel to the highway, so noisy and kind of annoying. It does however eventually lead to some really good trails. Well made trail, but rather drive a minute farther to a much better trail.

I feel like the description of this trail is a little off. First the Bell Lap is the name of the trail, but it seems that this refers only to the mountain bike trail. The mountain bike trail seems very popular and they are doing significant work to expand. This one way loop trail is separate from the hiking trail. The hiking trail is a multi-use trail for hiking, less adventurous biking, horseback riding, and park vehicles. It is mostly gravel/ 2-track. It is also labeled the Loop Forest Trail in signs, although my GPS seemed to keep me pretty close to the above trail map. Over all easy quick hike with some hills (my 7 yr old had no issues and was easy for her - her hardest hike to date had been 8.5mi moderate). Nice quick hike if you just want to get out in the woods for a bit!

It is a 3.9 mile ride. The first 1.5 miles is littered with man-made mounds which will test your skill level. The second mile is along the lake with several small streams to cross. The last mile is the home stretch along the Bell lap trail.

Beautiful peaceful trail

Lakeview is a bike trail, so if you start on Powhatan Trail walking you have to turn back at the Lakeview Loop.

Nice trail around the lake but did not feel like more then 2 miles, and seems to be a connector trail for the campers staying at the park or an easy way to a longer bike loop trail which is misleading on the map, we had to turn back. Also not a fan of the disconnection off the trail with the street crossings.
Forest exploration and Beaver are much better trails for walking.

The first half mile is downhill with plenty of mounds and jumps. The last part of the trail is mostly flat.

This is a nice ride for the weekend warrior. The trail doesn’t have any roots or rocks. It’s nice and wide for for good speeds especially in the first mile. In the first mile, there are some good mounds to test your skills. The last quarter mile is slightly uphill.

I'm not much of a fan of gravel stone or hiking access roads, which this trail has too much.

I have ridden this trail many times. 1 and 3 are the most interesting with 2 being mediocre. the trails are really well maintained with little chance of getting lost. there are a couple of small streams to cross, some rock gardens and small logs across the trail to hop. there are a few small climbs, and a few spots to really fly, mostly on 3. you will find a couple of benches and a nice place to stop and look out over the lake. we've seen deer, snakes and birds. it can get a little rooty in spots, but it's mostly nice packed dirt. it can get technical in spots so I would say this is for intermediate skilled riders.

Nice walk on trails under the trees. Great place to walk the dogs

I was able to hike this trail with a 7 year old and an infant. Easy walk and plenty to look at in terms of animal tracks, fallen trees, and the hidden cemetery was a good find

Not great for hiking. The trail is a gravel road.

This is a good trail run. It is a mix between pavement and gravel/dirt but can get pretty muddy after rains. You can get decent mileage if you run the peripheral pavement and inner trails and is a safe place due to the trail close proximity to courthouse/police.

Nice and easy to navigate 5 mile run. Not much to look at during this run, tho if you have time there is a cemetery that is hidden along the way.

Great trail to run. Perfect in that it's just over a half marathon distance and allows your to almost completely circle the park. Some of the climbs feel like they go on forever but nothing on this trails is difficult to navigate. Also not many roots or rocks to run on.

The Lakeview trail (one, western trail ) is the easiest of the 3 lakeview trails. Really enjoyable. Start at the Algonquin camp.

A moderate trail for hiking. Not difficult at all. The trail is definitely designed for mountain biking, but it's hiker friendly. It's well maintained and clean. The trail offers nothing scenic worth noting. It's a mixture of gravel road and forest path.

Nice ride. Just enough challenges for a weekend rider. There are three separate trails here. Trails 1,2 and 3.

I made a last-minute decision to hike this trail instead of Beaver Lake Trail, and it was a little disappointing. Pretty enough, but not much challenge.I followed one turn-off that took me to a camping area, and it was an out-and-back trail, so I had to spend time retracing my steps and finding a longer/better section to hike. I picked up Beaver Lake Trail after a couple of false starts on this one, and then I was happier.

This path was quiet with some hills and mostly gravel, not a fan of it crossing onto the road a little ways in. I did go off the beaten path by taking a bike trail the added some length to my hike.

Nice trail. A bit of elevation change gives it some bite and the hardwoods are pretty. Quite a bit of mountain bike traffic.

I hiked the Beaver Lake Trail 2.47 miles. Moderate and beautiful views of the lake.

Only downed one star purely for the fact I prefer more of a trail than a road when I hike. That being said, it was otherwise a nice hike. Plenty of area for my dog to get a drink from creeks & run off streams. Very peaceful & the few people I saw hiking & biking were very nice. Will do again.

Great long trail. A lot to see but it needs to be noted that about 7 miles in you hit Swift Creek Dam and there is no bridge or rock path for crossing. We had to walk across barefoot and the bottom is full of sharp edged rocks. Beware!
