Easy. Frequent the trail often. It is flat and mostly in tree cover. It follows the Piney river and Tye river. Beautiful with benches and portapotties at the beginning and middle. Enjoyable for most activities- running, walking (with dogs), biking (with kids), leisurely horseback riding, and even tubing on the piney! Everyone shares the trail well. Wish there were more trash bins on the trail and an exit on the other side. hope to see it expand in Amherst County.

First trail ride ever. Headed back there this weekend!

Really enjoyed this trail. It's really flat, but very scenic. There is benches and chairs along the trail to hangout and enjoy nature. Also this trail works good to get long runs in.

Fun bike ride with the family with 2 adults and 2 kids. We pulled our bike trailer with both kids in it with no problem. The trail is mostly flat, the inclines are almost unnoticeable, unless you are pulling two kids behind you! No amazing views, but the ride was nice along the river with a train depot at the end. Benches and picnic tables along the way. Plenty of parking and there is a portapottie at the piney river parking area.

The walk was nice and peaceful but I wouldn't recommend bringing a dog unless you have super tick control! We found at least 6 ticks on our dog! He has a great tick collar which kept them from attaching.

Great place for an easy, flat run. There aren't many overwhelming views, but it is well groomed. I also felt safe in the area and there is plenty of parking.

This is a great easy trail for hiking, bicycling, & horseback riding. Dog friendly, on leash. Scenic, runs along the Piney & Tye Rivers. Starts at an old railroad depot at the Piney River Trailhead, about 1.6 miles to the Rose Mill Trailhead, covered bridge at milepost 4, old railroad scales at the end. No exit at the end. Parking for horse trailers at Piney River. Smaller parking area at Rose Mill.
