Great for a morning run. Pretty views. A few small hills but nothing crazy. I just ran the southernmost 2.5 miles of it.

Rented bikes from Mountain Ops & rode all the way to downtown Stowe with family of 5. Very scenic easy ride but a lot of pedestrian traffic (nearly run off the path more than once). Some spots were pretty narrow (bridges & underpass) but path was pretty & well marked. Lots of places to stop and explore along the way to Town. Corn maze, Farmer’s market, Pie-Casso, the recreation path was well connected to the places you want to go! Save some energy for the ride back from Stowe, it seemed more uphill than down (or I was just tired from dragging the tandem behind me).

Really only for mountain biking. We felt very unsafe hiking here.

Looked great for mountain biking, though!

This is an excellent walking trail, and if your intentions are to walk and see wildlife peacefully, make sure to take the Quiet Side trail (if beginning from the downtown Stowe area). I have been here a few times, and have seen many beavers and other animals along this path. The views are great too!

This is more a paved bike/walk trail than a hiking trail. We vaca with our dog and I walk this with him from our room on the Mountain Road to the various shops and restaurants. This trail is not about the view, rather, it's being able to get around areas of Stowe without walking alongside the road.

Beautiful and easy walking trail. We did 6 miles out and back (3 each way). It was a great recovery walk after doing The Long Trail to the Chin the day before.

I loved it! The only flaw is that for me I had no idea where to turn around and the constant background noise. Other than that, it was incredible!!!!

Nice main path loop with several side trails interspersed. We took our dogs around the main path and through some of the side trails for a few hours. Lots of mountain bikes to keep an eye out for and a few narrow spots where it was tricky to get off the path and out of their way. But it’s a nice, easy hike with the dogs and we will use these trails again.

Great loop to get some cool mileage in from Little River State Park.

It was a nice hike but it was difficult to navigate the trails. They go by different colours (red, yellow and blue) but the map only shows orange and yellow. We found our way in the “free section” of the mountain but it wasn’t clear from the Adams camp map. When you go above Haul Road you need a day pass to use these trails.

We hiked this trail to the top and back, it was not 6.4 miles but a little over 8 miles. There was not a clear spot to turn around as the Catamount XC trail goes on for many miles, so we stopped at approximately the top, and we got a little view, but not very much.

It was an enjoyable trail to hike, with beautiful scenery, but does not see much traffic in summer, some areas were not very well marked and 2 different people missed a turn and got lost on the way down. It was wet in places and the footing could be slippery. I would not classify this as a great trail for beginners.

At the top there was a lot of signs of moose activity.

(FYI The reviewer Jesepe A is obviously commenting on a different trail that starts nearby goes up to the Long Trail and back, https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/vermont/nebraska-notch-lake-mansfield-trail, that is not this trail)

The majority of the trail is wide ,mostly flat, logging road in
the shade. Only About 20 percent of it is elevated . It's really a great walk through the woods crossing brooks . I did not see a lake as mentioned in the bio above . There is not a summit . The length is probably why it's rated moderate . Dogs seem to do great on this trail . Park at the last parking lot on the left by the red gate if you want to park near the start of the trail . It is a loop , so when you start you can go straight behind the red gate or go left of the red gate . We went left to start and most of the elevation was done on the first few miles .

Great place to bring your dog! Old logging trails that are no longer in use that are nice and wide! Beautiful and refreshing streams for a dip or drink for the dogs too!

It was nice but I was expecting more but it is great for all skill levels as well as biking and is strollerable and dog friendly but pooches must be leashed and clean up your scat. I was thinking there was more scenic stuff on this trail.

Nice pine needle paths... multiple side loops. keep eye out for mountain bikers . Great view of Mansfield from green chairlift seat mounted in one tree

Just a walk in the park. Nice stroll but not much of a hike nor are there views. A lot of bike traffic to maneuver around too. Not all bikers know the rules of the road so you need to be aware of them or may get knocked over or run into.

Some greenery, nice scenery with the mountains around, easy, but you're never far from the road, fact reminded by the constant traffic noise and the regular crossings. Nice for a daily run, less for a Sunday hike.

Just after a large snow fall, trail was used a few times. Narrow snowshoe for now. Only did 1.8 miles on Macutchan outer loop trail out and back. Several inner trails not shown on AllTrails map.

It was an easy walk. We did this walk in the beginning of November and it wasn't busy at all.

Two places I know of to start this trail run and I started off of Luce Hill Road, which was a little confusing to find the trail as it is basically a double track/logger road (Haul Rd) off Luce road into the woods. You follow the double track to the bypasses, I skipped the bypasses by going straight and experienced a challenging uphill on the double track all the way past the sign for the Von Trapp trails till the turn off for Ranch Camp Trail then right onto Kimmers trail, which was a great downhill, fast, single track for over a mile to the fork. Going left lead to small parking lot, going right went down a rocky/grassy wide, mowed trail. After a mile or so it curved up right/uphill to re-join with Haul road. The trail is fairly well marked and was lots of fun to run on. Very beautiful scenery in the forest. I would definitely run again.

Super relaxing path around town with beautiful views. Thru town, fields, near the quiet path, under a covered bridge... Just a great way to get around. Accessible to any and all!

Beautiful scenery, nice trail to bike along if your in the area. If your staying at a hotel/motel, if you lucky a lot of them will rent out bikes. You can get in some nice views of Mt. Mansfield. It can be sometimes trafficked with people

Great fun! Some technical turns for rookies like me. I liked taking a break on the chairlift.

Action packed! short but oh so sweet on the way down. Rookies beware. Some turns are very nasty with some quick drop offs.
