Secluded trail, well marked and fun overall. The waters are nice and you can get right in there. Plenty of spots to get great shots of the falls, albeit a little small. Small parking though.

For the southern VT Marlboro Hogback: Temperatures were mild so we took the family out for an afternoon hike. Kids are 10-8-6. We went out Douglas to Link and over Little Hogback and then up to summit of Hogback in about 1:20 moving at a pretty slow pace for the little ones in the snow. We came back on White loop and back to the parking for a total time of about 2:10. No major vistas from the summits but plenty of variety in vegetation along the way was nice. Trail markings were generally good. It was a little thin on top of Little Hogback. Will go back again in summer.

Gorgeous area, very limited views however (even in the winter).

We've got some confusion going on - there are TWO Hogback Mountains in Vermont. The map and the photo for this listing show a hike in the Hogback Mountain Conservation Area in Marlboro, Vermont, where the trails are well marked and the public is welcome. The conservation area abuts the Molly Stark State Park, where there is a fire tower at the summit of Mt. Olga. There is another Hogback in midstate, near Pittsford and Brandon, which it seems that this page was originally designed to cover.. For a downloadable trail map for the Marlboro Hogback, in the southern part of the state, go to hogbackvt.org.

Got here by accident from Mt. Olga trail and walked half of the Tower Trail to Rt 9. Some beautiful open spots to enjoy the scenery and interesting displays about the local wildlife.

Can't get to the trail. The road to the trailhead definitely needs 4WD and then there's a sign warning against trespassing for people that aren't guests of landowners. I don't recommend coming here.

A great little hike the its the view from the top that makes it worth while. Once you get all the way up, climb the fire tower to expand your view for miles in every direction.
