North Troy, Vermont Map

Beautiful trail but quite steep and rocky. We chose to walk back down by the ski trails to the ski parking lot. From there we had to walk back to the beginning of the trail on the main road uphill. I'd personally rate this trail as "hard/difficult". The views from the top and the walk down the ski slopes made it an unforgettable hike. Plan 5 hrs return.

Not much variation in the trails since it’s a ski mountain, but the view is gorgeous!

Perfect distance for a day at the station !

One of my favorite hikes in the NEK, drive past the ski area and park on the left side of the road on Route 242. The trail is on the right side and has a small shelter and sign in box . I saw less than 10 people round trip. Perfect trail for dogs, but bring water as there is no water source until you get to the summit. Rocky towards the top. No bugs when I went.

Great hike. We went on a Saturday and there was plenty of parking along rt 242 exactly where the map indicates, there is a small unmarked trailhead on the north side of the road, little shelter and sign in box there. It took about 1 hour for us to hike up at a good workout clip, decent trail, lots of rocks and roots but trail running shoes would be just fine. You had to clamor up some small rocky areas but nothing difficult and no shale. At the top, there is a ski lift area with food. Beautiful short hike and a good cardio workout!

Moderate+ difficulty. Trail is moderately easy for the first 3/4 of a mile then gets a bit steeper for the next 1/2 mile before becoming slightly difficult for 1/4 mile until reaching the ski trail.
Cloudy and a bit cool today so we missed the great views at top. Top tram lodge had food, water fountain, and bathrooms. Wifi as well.
Had not planned to have lunch at top but the menu looked good, wife had a tuna sushi bowl and I had a pulled porked sandwich, both very good. Light traffic and met very few people on trail and a few good dogs.
Good footwear strongly encouraged. wet in spots, top to bottom.

Awesome scenic views from the summit!

Starts out with steady uphill for first 3/4 miles. Then becomes steeper for remaining 3/4 mile. Easy 15 minute scramble to top after you cross ski trail and snow making pipes. Views at top of Canada, Lake Memphremagog, and all the way down the Green Mountain spine to the south.

Short enough to be a low pressure, take-your-time hike. Challenging enough to make it interesting. The final section is particularly rocky and steep. Great views at the top make for a rewarding payoff. Dog friendly, but not for pets not accustomed to hiking. Smaller dogs will struggle at the top and there are no water sources along the trail.

first of all.... moderate? maybe if you do this a lot. "a few rock scrambles"? more like the top 1/3 of the trail is a rock scramble. while i may not hike weekly, i go often enough to believe the only reason this is not rated as "hard" is because someome feels 1.7 miles up is too short to be hard. if you dont hike a lot, don't be fooled by the rating and peoples humbragging. it's hard. it's also beautiful and i'll be doing it again!

Good hike, mostly clearly marked trail through woods. Would have liked more open vistas along the way. Views from the top were great!

This is a good trail and always well maintained. Moderate is a good rating, the elevation increase is gradual and the summit views are rewarding.

A tough hike with lots of rock scrambling. Worth the effort.

Great hike with a fantastic pay-off: spectacular views of the Green Mountains, the Adirondacks and the White Mountains. Mount Washington was visible today. Bug spray definitely recommend now!

Trails are well marked and maintained. You can get a map from the front desk if you decide to start at the resort. On the resort map, I took points 1-2-3-4-5-6. It took about 2 hours total - 1 hr 20 minutes up, 40 minutes down. There are many ways you can choose to go up.

very nice hike up from the bottom at the lodge. Took the family 2.5 hours up but was worth it.

Fantastic day. Upper sixties, slight breeze, blue skies. We put on micro spikes about half up. It's packed snow and ice. Only post hole once. You can bare boot up, but the spikes made it much more pleasant. Especially on the way down.

Great hike ! We had a beautiful day. Only had one problem as someone had a sigh and markers stating wrong way when in fact it was the correct route. Had to backtrack a bit.
