Absolutely terrific hike to a pretty impressive and unexpected (skinny and tall) waterfall. The blue blazes are perfectly placed amd the trail is easy to follow. I am perplexed by the concerns about it being hard to find the trail turn to the Falls; there is a fork in the trail and on a tree, in the middle of the fork, is an aged sign that says Falls and points to the right. From there the trail narrows and eventually passes through a washout section (Tropical Storm Irene damages from 2011, according to the guidebook that I use) but just look down at the rocks - the blue blazes show you right where to go. When the trail ends and you hear the water but cannot see it, follow the trail down and up to the left and voila. I navigated it with my dogs leash in one hand and my iPhone in the other and did just fine. I can see how the last bit might be concerning for kids but not if they are mindful to stay on the trail. Really terrific out and back hike; would highly recommend it!!

There is a well groomed trail but hard to find unless you know where to look. If you go into the parking lot for the rec. park off of 7A (not the parking lot near the boating access bridge on 313), and park on the right next to the tennis courts you'll see the trail. It is very easy and not very long but goes along the river for a bit, around a small playground, crosses a little golf course, dog park and soccer fields. A pretty leisurely stroll but a pretty place!

Again another great little hike in Vt. Not for very young kids way too dangerous at falls.

Lots of uphill rocky sections. About 4km’s from parking to the falls. Very beautiful hike!

Gorgeous! Must see in person to get the full effect of how truly amazing these falls are! I have lived here for all of my 30 years and this is the first time I’ve been up here, and I WILL be back again! Easy hike, the trail is a little rocky in spots but easy to follow and amazing payoff! Took me about an hour up and 40 minutes back. If you have the chance to see these falls DO IT!!

Nice pit stop along my drive up to Stowe, VT. The waterfall was not as lush as I hoped, but this was actually all too fortunate as my backpack that I placed on the rock ledge behind me tumbled off and somehow kept going right over the precipice into a pool down below in the falls! Needless to say I wasn’t planning on climbing the falls, but I guess I was forced to. At least my backpack got a little bit of a washing to boot and miraculously the inner compartment wasn’t wet. So hang on to your belongings! There isn’t much space at the top regardless for more than a few people.

This is a lovely trail.. there are some narrow places, and definitely a rocky trail. Allow some time, both for views and navigating the rocks and tree roots.

This waterfall is worth the mostly uphill hike - absolutely stunning! Hikers are friendly and best to go in the AM before the parking gets challenging.

Did this as the start and finish of a weekend of backpacking. Overlook is beautiful. Trail is a steep double track road. Wish there was a trail option up and back rather than the road. Pick a clear day to hike it to appreciate the view.

Great hike if you only have a couple of hours. Not too strenuous and the falls are a beautiful end.

Steep but short. Well maintained trail, wide. Runs along a creek and you can see a nice waterfall on the side and even hike to it for a brief detour. At the top it becomes flatter for a bit before you arrive a the rock with awesome vistas of the Manchester Valley. Great half a day hike!

This was a fun trail! Took us a little over 2 hours to hike to the falls and back. The other reviews have it right, the pictures just don't do the waterfall justice. It's much taller than it looks in person!

nice trail with a few rugged spots. very highly trafficked when we went and people who have no idea how to hike with dogs, unfortunately. the falls are exquisite and worth the effort.

Out and back trail with a waterfall at the end as a reward. Trail is rocky. Mostly uphill on the way out, so the return is easier. Trail is mostly shady. Found some ripe, wild blackberries.

Nice trail up to stunning waterfall. Rocky in some parts, quite slippery on a humid morning.

Nice flat gravel road/trail, mostly shaded and stream/cascades/slides/pools along the first third. Nice view of Manchester and mountains at the Rock! Parking at kiosk ( beyond water tower area) as well as parking lot before water tank where this all trails starts.

We took Rootville Rd trail to Branch Pond trail. Up to the shelter the trail is fine and easy to find. It can be a bit tricky from the shelter to Bourn Pond. This is an area that sees frequent storms and blowdown should be expected. Parts are overgrown but to me that’s a sign that I don’t have to constantly dodge 500 other hikers. The Pond was nice but there are many signs of folks ignoring Leave No Trace. Small trees cut down all over the place. We had a very rowdy group of guys making lots of noise across the pond. They finally quiet down after being spoken to three times. I hope you are ashamed of yourselves if you read this. We didn’t complete the loop and went straight back. It’s an ok hike with a great setting for a night or two.

August 12 2019 - Out and back to see the falls. Hazy afternoon, dry hike, shady all the way. Nice trail at a medium pace. Seemed uphill all the way but never strenuous. A little rocky but not difficult. A few mosquitoes and some flies along the way. Saw about 15 hikers. Alone at the falls. Worth the time. Total hike with lunch break was 3 hrs. A few views at nearby peaks - but not obvious. Also went swimming at the marble quarry at nearby Dorset = great place to visit - jump off cliffs into deep pool.
