Nice hike. The rock backdrop on the falls is beautiful!

Nice short hike with some elevation gain. Make sure you see the sign on the trail on the right to the prospect rock otherwise you might miss it.

The waterfall is great, but the trail between the waterfall and bourne pond is extremely overgrown and in need of maintenance. Also, mosquitoes were pretty bad throughout the hike. However, the pond is quite a nice place to camp.

Great hike did this with the entire family
From 68 years old to 17 years old
Great fun !

Some narrow points along the path, as well as some very steep ones. People who have trouble with heights may not enjoy the final part actually by the falls as it's narrow and very steep at some parts.

Really enjoyed this hike....waterfall very well worth the climb getting there. Climb was steady and never too difficult. Great 2-3 hr hike.

My wife and I and 2 small kids (age 2 and 4) did this hike summer 2018. A few steep passes, kids were in carriers for a good amount of hike. We took 5 hours, but stopped at the falls to play in the pools for 30 mins (parents-advise water shoes) and as well as other very slow trekking due to small kids. Beautiful falls, a lot of fun, tree covered 95% of the way in July made for cool hike despite 90 degree weather.

great view once you get to the to the look out. fairly straight forward trail

Great short day hike. Beautiful trail and waterfall, not much in the way of views of the valley but still very worth the trip

This hike was a bit more difficult than I had imagined, lots of rocks! Wet at the end before the fall. Keep going the view is amazing from the very top! Long hike but worth it. Would say for a more experienced than medium but I also had a 56 yer old climbing with me :)

Completed this loop in two days and we stayed overnight next to Stratton Pond. Branch Pond trail and Lye Brook trail are poorly maintained and have swarms of mosquitoes and flies. Needless to say, bug spray is a must! Lots of fallen trees on the trail and very muddy terrain. Difficult to move fast because of the obstacles and poorly marked in some places. Stratton Pond has very few decent camping spots. Long trail is nice and easy. There was just one view in the beginning of trail before the loop started and after that there was nothing special - just forest and okay lakes. Not impressed.

No indication whatsoever... we met a couple of hikers who told us they missed the entrance of the trail (where it leaves the boring sand road). So we went right as soon as we could. We reached a viewpoint that was ok but maybe not worth the climb. We did not see what we were supposed to see, so I guess we didn’t take the right trail !

Pretty decent hike. We only had a few hours so this was perfect. Took us about 1h15m up and 45 down. Not too much to see on the way up. The waterfall is cool, but there isnt an open “view” like there would be on top of a mountain. If I were ever in the area again, I would probably do it again.

Nice quick hike. make sure to look up at about 1.6 mils so you see the sign for Prospect rock to the right. Beautiful view from the top!

Not a hard hike just not well marked.

Not to steep of an incline going up. Very clean trail, but it was not very well marked. Once you find prospect rock its beautiful definitely a hidden gem. Needs more trail markers for where the actual rock area is. Otherwise, it was a nice hike, we even went further and found Lye Forest.

An okay hike. It’s a steady climb to the falls, it never gets steep. The trail descends a little over the last half of a mile. Although the lanslide and the waterfall are interesting, there aren’t many other attractions on the rest of the trail.

Great easy hike for an early Saturday morning with a stellar view as the payoff. Had Prospect rock all to myself for 40 minutes...very grateful

Nice easy hike! The Falls were completely frozen when we were there today which was pretty cool. Very well maintained trail & super easy going, never steep.

It was a great hike and the best time to do it is fall when the ground is full of fall leaves. It looks like a scene from a fairy tail book. This is an easy hike with not much elevation. This is a quick hike if you have other things planned as well during the afternoon and dont want to spend all day hiking. Or just need something for 2-3 hours. It gives you some elevation as well. So for folks who like to raise their heart beats a bit while hiking, this has that element as well. Waterfall itself is quite beautiful. There is a giant rock where mostly folks go till and take pictures. But there is about 50 more steps you could take upwards towards the falls (a bit slippery) but gets you closer to the falls and gives you a better view. You could also go further down the fall and chill at a few rocks. Not too much traffic.

This was a nice easy trail on the last leg of a 2 night backpacking trip starting at Stratton mountain trail.
Still foliage this late in season. Could easily see where most of the wild flowers would have been. Nice stream crossings.

Great little hike. Took about about 2 1/2 hours for the up an back with about 20 min at the falls. It has been dry the last few weeks so the volume of water coming down was not spectacular.

Easy hike and beautiful views !!

Did this while baby wearing my 6 month old son and it was the perfect workout !

Great little hike!

It's a rather boring hike up. You are pretty much walking on a dirt road. Road is very rocky and steep. There is a small waterfall at the beginning other then that pretty uneventful until to reach Prospect Rock. The view from there was very nice. Ok hike if your looking to kill some time.

This was so far our favorite hike in the green mountains.
