Pretty decent hike. We only had a few hours so this was perfect. Took us about 1h15m up and 45 down. Not too much to see on the way up. The waterfall is cool, but there isnt an open “view” like there would be on top of a mountain. If I were ever in the area again, I would probably do it again.

Nice quick hike. make sure to look up at about 1.6 mils so you see the sign for Prospect rock to the right. Beautiful view from the top!

Not a hard hike just not well marked.

Not to steep of an incline going up. Very clean trail, but it was not very well marked. Once you find prospect rock its beautiful definitely a hidden gem. Needs more trail markers for where the actual rock area is. Otherwise, it was a nice hike, we even went further and found Lye Forest.

An okay hike. It’s a steady climb to the falls, it never gets steep. The trail descends a little over the last half of a mile. Although the lanslide and the waterfall are interesting, there aren’t many other attractions on the rest of the trail.

Great easy hike for an early Saturday morning with a stellar view as the payoff. Had Prospect rock all to myself for 40 minutes...very grateful

Nice easy hike! The Falls were completely frozen when we were there today which was pretty cool. Very well maintained trail & super easy going, never steep.

It was a great hike and the best time to do it is fall when the ground is full of fall leaves. It looks like a scene from a fairy tail book. This is an easy hike with not much elevation. This is a quick hike if you have other things planned as well during the afternoon and dont want to spend all day hiking. Or just need something for 2-3 hours. It gives you some elevation as well. So for folks who like to raise their heart beats a bit while hiking, this has that element as well. Waterfall itself is quite beautiful. There is a giant rock where mostly folks go till and take pictures. But there is about 50 more steps you could take upwards towards the falls (a bit slippery) but gets you closer to the falls and gives you a better view. You could also go further down the fall and chill at a few rocks. Not too much traffic.

This was a nice easy trail on the last leg of a 2 night backpacking trip starting at Stratton mountain trail.
Still foliage this late in season. Could easily see where most of the wild flowers would have been. Nice stream crossings.

Great little hike. Took about about 2 1/2 hours for the up an back with about 20 min at the falls. It has been dry the last few weeks so the volume of water coming down was not spectacular.

Easy hike and beautiful views !!

Did this while baby wearing my 6 month old son and it was the perfect workout !

Great little hike!

It's a rather boring hike up. You are pretty much walking on a dirt road. Road is very rocky and steep. There is a small waterfall at the beginning other then that pretty uneventful until to reach Prospect Rock. The view from there was very nice. Ok hike if your looking to kill some time.

This was so far our favorite hike in the green mountains.

very nice trail... family friendly... our dachshund made it all the way without any assist. no views along the way... a nice wooded trail. would look great if leaves were peaking... which they were NOT today... the payoff is a waterfall which is fun to scramble around on and pretty...

went to the falls and back. would love to hear if anyone hikes all the way to Stratton Pond.

This is a awesome little hike with beautiful views.

Awesome. No major elevation changes. The view from Prospect Rock was great. But imagine if you fell off that thing! We stayed at William B. Douglas shelter for one night. The Branch Pond Trail was well marked, but the Lye Brook Trail was not the best marked.

Great hike! Very rocky trails so it becomes a bit tiresome on your feet after a while. Did it with our 6 year old who did great, but was super tired by the time we came back down. So probably at the limit of what a little kid can do. The falls were great although you have to be extra careful when walking up to the edge of the gorge.

Amazing views!

Beautiful hike. Lots of side trails into lye brook Wilderness and up Stratton mountain. Stratton pond intersects with Long Trail/ Appalachian Trail. We stayed at tenting sites on Bourn Pond an Stratton Pond. Peaceful site with privy. Caretaker comes by to collect $5 per person per day. Parts of trail around Stratton Pond closed due to flooding when we were there but able to get to spring to collect and treat water.

The trail itself is rather bland, like a rough road. That being said, there are wild flowers and little streams to check out. Prospect Rock had a beautiful view and was well worth the short hike to the top.

Nice hike thru some of the Lye Brook Wilderness...found it pretty easy going. Falls are gorgeous!!

Great trail - fairly easy going, solid but not intense incline, and beautiful falls reward you at the end. Would make a great winter snowshoe or a tough summer trail run.

Great view of the falls at the end.
