Great hike for a cool summer day. Slowly builds in intensity before leveling out around the halfway point. Final mile involves some rock scrambling but nothing that should prevent someone taking their time. We experienced a rain storm on the summit and still made it back down with minimal slippage.

An easy 2 mile stroll through a lovely northern forest. The hemlock and pine trees create a fairy tale like setting. In fact, be on the lookout for gnomes. Would’ve liked some bigger trees.

The beginning of the hike is fine and very interesting due to some write ups about the history of the area in Gettysburg quarry. However, the remainder of the trip is poorly marked and overgrown in the area where you would make the final assent to Owls Head. We have done this hike many times over the years and were disappointed to not even be able to find the trail. Go for it if you’d like to see Gettysburg quarry at about .5 mile.

Nice hike. The rock backdrop on the falls is beautiful!

Nice short hike with some elevation gain. Make sure you see the sign on the trail on the right to the prospect rock otherwise you might miss it.

A Great morning adventure! A fun amount of climbing and hiking. Recommend to all seeking a high intensity walk through the woods.

Awesome hike but it is tough. I brought my three kids and they hated me for a little while afterwards. See my full write up. http://www.eastcoasthiker.com/trails/equinoxmountain

Beautiful view, nicely maintained trail, kid friendly and high foot traffic. Wish it was a little less busy but it was a VT summer day, can’t expect to have the trail to ourselves. Was a great hike with the kiddo.

Kicked our butts. We took the Eagle cut to Ccc road to Laura Cowls Trail to the top. The LC section was steep and seemingly unending but fun in that it was a challenge — mostly a boulder and rock scramble. It had rained off and on the day before and much of the way was damp. Came down via the sunset ridge trail — easier and drier. Might try it as the way up and back if I do this Trail again. (Hubby says he never wants to do it again)

Definitely my new favorite approach to Mansfield. We did Sunset Ridge as our approach to Mount Mansfield, which stayed in the alpine zone for more than half the way up. We were able to see wonderful views of the Green Mountains on the way up including Camels Hump in the distance. The summit of Mansfield had wonderful views into Smugglers Notch and the Northern Green Mountains. We decided to take Subway and Canyons Trail to Hallway House rather than Long Trail. This brought us through epic caves an glacial features. Half Way House was very steep, definitely not meant for downhill hiking. All in all great hike.

Such a great spot! This is a working farm that takes donations and welcomes dogs! Keep the leashed at the parking lot, visitors center and farmland bug let them loose in the forest! They have 30 miles of trails so it's definitely an adventure.

Very good trail. Well marked. Lots of small elevation changes but nothing too steep. I was slightly unnerved by the two different makeshift shelters in the middle of the woods (homeless??). Probably would not do this solo for that reason.

Parts of this trail are on the difficult side but overall a doable hike considering the distance taking breaks it was doable to get to the Goddard shelter in about 6-7 hours and we are far from being in top physical shape. The biggest struggle is water conservation there’s about a 4-5 mile stretch with no water access without taking a half mile detour to a pond. I would highly recommend doing this hike in late June to mid July if you don’t mind sharing campsites with through hikers we probably met 15 people that were on there way to Maine from Georgia. The views aren’t especially rewarding for how rigorous this hike is

Super hard, super gorgeous at the top!

Great loop. Didn’t see anyone else on the entire trek. Moderate with a 3.5 year old on your back. Very pretty and well maintained!

Decent elevation change and scenery throughout. Good for a short hike. In the middle of summer falls are down to a trickle.

went end of may... spectacular view at the chin. worth the long trek and deffinitly worth making the loop. profanity trail was covered in deep snow, so watch out going down after winter time into.

Great waterfall and short hike. Water was crystal clear and the perfect temperature to cool down in July.

Lovely hike, terrific view.

Loved this trail! Our favorite bit was the young pine grove near the end. Smelled like Christmas! It’s a bit tricky to find the entrance to the trail though. We ended up parking in the lot and taking the long trail entrance at the back of the lot and crossing the road. It’s not marked as the white rocks trail until you get a decent way up the mountain. Make sure to wear good hiking shoes and bring a walking stick as the trail gets a bit rocky.

fun hike with some partial views of Monadnock.

Nice hike, great view from the top!

Awesome hike, almost too easy

Absolutely gorgeous, peaceful trail that crosses the Long Trail toward the top. A nice lodge for through hikers at the pond, which is a lovely vista. Very uneven ground, lots of short but steep increases and crossing over water ways. A fun hike with a decent work out. Definitely recommend!

Decent hike. Could hear highway the whole time and see from “window” view. Still pretty, especially when you first walk in. Great hike if you are looking to go all the way to Camels Hump!

Beautiful view ! The leaves were colourful, and the lake was blue turquoise. Not too challenging, just enough if you don't stop! Would recommend

Beautiful place to explore. Be sure to walk past main viewing area to find away across to the other side for more spectacular views and less people. You can find your way into the water for a swim and natural whirlpool.

Was a great little hike, definitely a steep hike, but worth it. If you’re looking for a nice workout/hike and don’t have a lot of time, this is the hike for you.
