Mostly well maintained. Quiet and private. Woodland trails, open fields and a lake view. Our pup loved it! Some parts were overgrown, and there were several large fallen trees on the trail. Will be back.

I did this trail back in August; easy. A bit muddy in a few spots, and the mosquitoes were HUGE. Be sure to bring/use bug spray if you're doing this trail in the summer months.

Nice well kept trail, pretty steep with some lovely views of Lake Willoughby and the mountains beyond. Well worth the effort.

First part is like a bike path but once you get to the lake it gets much rougher. Not hard if you are used to hiking.

Great trail hike. Great water views with one steep up and down section. I got lost on some offshoots, but it all leads back home. Not good trail marking.

Great day walk with family and doggo. (It was our alternative after learning no-dogs-allowed at Shelburne Farms.) Beautiful views north to Red Rocks park and along shore. One climb, otherwise very level and clearly marked. This is a very well-maintained trail. Plus my daughter spotted an amazing toad!

Stunning views!! The hike was pretty heavily trafficked but everybody was very nice and courteous. I recommended going to the second outlook at the top for the best views. If you want to swim at the lake after the hike, it’s only like 2 minutes down the street from the parking lot!

Really great for a “city” park, especially coming back along the lakeshore.

Do not hike here in the summer! This trail is tick town year round, but with so many overgrown areas, yikes! Wait till there is some dieback so you are not constantly smacked with foliage. Late fall through spring would be better. But still protect yourself from ticks! Found one inside my sock, near the toe!

HikingFeeGreat!

The trail was steep but very well maintained. Well-traveled but almost everyone had a mask or bandana to pull up over their face when passing. The southern view is impressive but make sure to keep going to the western outlooks. These desperately need more signage but are so worth the extra hike. Be careful: the first one looks like a tent site; I walked right past it twice. I also saw a black bear toward the summit! I’d definitely recommend this hike as steep with absolutely stunning views.

HikingRocky

We did this trail yesterday and it is a fairly easy hike up-despite the trail being quite rocky. The pond is beautiful and the loop around was the best part, so make sure to do this-this is where you get any views. There were no views on the way up, but often a little creek as we walked up. We were the only ones on the trail going up around 10:45 am, but on the way down, we passed about 5 groups of people. There are a few trails that continue up to other spots from the pond, but don’t know how nice they are. The entire trail with the pond loop registered 5.3 miles on my phone, so it is longer than 4.8-but not by much. My app is accurate as I use it on all my hikes.

WalkingGreat!Rocky

Very clean trail and the waterfalls are breathtaking. Be mindful that the trail does have a pretty steep incline for about the first 10-15 minutes, but after that it’s easily walkable. You DO NOT have to hike the trail to see the beautiful sights of the waterfall!
