Made a longer loop hike starting out on the burns trail, which was a nice walk through the woods, to the cedar point trail which had beautiful views of the bay and access to the shore. Returned via the beach bypass trail to the Allen trail. Highly recommend this beautiful park, many different hikes and loops

My honey and I weren’t able to walk the entire trail because the wind was a bit much that day. Pristine trail, ideal for walking or biking. Every city/town should have a trail like this! We plan to return with our children and bikes.

Great place to run and take a quick dip in the pond. There’s a rope swing on the north peninsula and a pretty easy cut off trail to find it.

Excellent fun trail. At times it does get congested but it does ease up. Recommend weekdays as opposed to weekends. The ferry ride is well worth the $4 each way and allows you to visit the island for some good food and ice cream. I understand from the ferry driver that on weekends the line gets very long.

Nice trails and lovely lookouts.

It says 3 miles but it feels longer, parking is also quite problematic with the limited number of spaces and the rules about not parking on the road side. But the hike itself is beautiful.

We hiked the loop indicated on this map which circled the entire park and was about 2.5 hours, But there are a variety of shortcuts. The trail crosses a brook, descends to a beautiful cove on the shore of Lake Champlain that ideal for a swim (too cold in mid September) and ascends (about 550 ft.) to two lookout points, one that views the lake Champlain Islands and northern Adirondack Mountains in New York state to the east, and another facing west to view Mt. Mansfield. There is plenty of interesting terrain, rock formation and forest vegetation to keep the trail interesting. You're not likely to see too much wildlife, except maybe for groups of elementary school children, as we did and locals walking their dogs (my sense is that the park is quite popular.) There was a poetry walk on one of the trails, with poems set along the path. Also there is a $4 entrance fee per person so bring cash.

Nice trails. Great swimming at the cove. Loved the poems along the trail, which changed monthly. Looking forward to going back.

Even though it is rated Easy, there are some pretty step and long climbs. For our first outing may have been more than we should have tackled. Looking forward to doing it again when we’re better prepared. Last leg near edge of water isn’t much fun. High weeds and brush on a very narrow path.

Awesome bike ride with beautiful views of Lake Champlain! Flat the whole ride with many nice spots to sit on large flat rocks and enjoy the scenery. I’ve heard it gets crowded but I went on a Tues evening and I was practically the only person out there!

Really enjoyed this area. Had a little of everything. Some nice inclines to get a workout but not too rigorous. Loved the different venues, from meadows to walking along the pond and through the canopy of trees. Definitely will go back! Well maintained and easy to navigate.

Deducting a star due to crowds and bugs BUT otherwise this is a really unique trail - flat, elevated and in the middle of Lake Champlain. Views are astounding. Surrounded by the lake with Adirondacks on one side and Green Mountains on the other. Just, WOW, but beware the crowds, kids and tourist bikers who don’t know bike etiquette.

Excellent bike ride, just foot traffic and bikes. Which is nice because I hate to ride amongst traffic. Beautiful views of lake, and mountains in the distance. Peaceful with pull-offs to enjoy the view.
Went on a Monday afternoon and it was super chill. Do it!

This is the perfect walk with amazing views of Lake Champlain. It’s also a great bike ride, including a paid ferry trip to Chicago next to the Lake Champlain Islands.

The trail is well-groomed with many platforms to navigate wet areas. Most of the trail winds through wooded areas and the canopy provides a cool, shaded walk. We were hoping for more views of the pond, but still a scenic walk in the Vermont woods.

Did the loop around the park and all the side loops to total about 4 miles. Hiked at a brisk pace, took me 1 hour 20 minutes to finish. I liked how the different species of trees had little signs at the beginning of the hike - I've never see Ironwood or Musclewood before. Cost $4 to enter and parking was good.

This is a must do, whether you’re a local or just visiting. It’s easy, it’s scenic and it’s a fabulous way to see the lake.

So many wildflowers in the fields surrounding the pond! Many areas with planks that go over wet spots, a well-maintained trail. When we're back in the area we'll definitely do it again!

We loved this gentle hike. We were greeted by friendly staff, the trails were very well taken care of and our dog loved the rock pet beach.

My husband and I brought our Golden Retriever on this short walk. We were greeted by very friendly people and our pup even got a treat. The trails are wonderfully maintained and the pet swimming area was a big hit. We saw three other hiking parties so it definitely wasn’t crowded. Loved this place!

The bike ferry that connects to the Champlain Islands is operational and run by Local Motion in Burlington. This really adds to this already great walk or ride.

Easy hike. Enjoyed swimming in the bay half way through our hike which was on a very hot 95 degree day. Cost was $4 per person because it’s a state park. Great day.

Great loop. Didn’t see anyone else on the entire trek. Moderate with a 3.5 year old on your back. Very pretty and well maintained!

I went running on this trail and enjoyed SO much! I had trouble on some of the muddy spots when I was running and slipped!

This is a really pleasant 3 mile loop around a pond. It is definitely kid-friendly with minimal incline, planks to avoid mud and muck, and lots to check out in terms of wildlife and scenery. Went two days in a row this week and noticed different animals and parts of the landscape on both. Seems like an easy place for canoeing, kayaking, and paddle boarding as well!
