Easy trail with a very slight incline on the way out. Beautiful sandstone with basalt ridgeline. Trail is mostly well worn, but there are quite a few sections with 1 to 2 foot rocks that you'll need to navigate if you're trail running. Georgous views. Map takes you right to the trailhead where there is a small paved parking lot.

Trail turned awesome after about 1 mile in (I hiked it). Great views and good workout. The trail is not hard, more like moderate in certain parts, where it gets technical. There were a couple of times where you had to figure out where the trail continues. Maybe next time I will bike it.

The scenery in Snow Canyon is beautiful. However, the lava tubes were not what I expected. Only one of them is large enough to actually enter and it would require repelling equipment to do so. The other two are are more like piles of lava rocks with small voids that you can crawl into. They don't go into the earth any distance, it's more like crawling under an overhang. The walk to get there is rocky, but very short and simple to navigate. The view from the overlook is worth the walk, but don't expect much of an adventure in the tubes.

A hidden gem!! A quiet, and in my opinion more interesting, place comparing with the crowded Zion. This trail covers several kinds of landscapes, including red sand, volcano rocks, petrified dunes, etc. If you look for more intensity, you can easily add more hikes to this loop. We went to the end of the Red Sand Trail and back to the loop, then went a little bit detour to hike up the Overlook Trail before we continued on the Butterfly Trail. We spent about 5-6 hrs in total. We saw a live road runner too!

So I misread the difficulty and took my newbie son (10) and nephew (11). Nephew had to walk most of the uphill but still had a great time, just took a bit longer. Stunning views near sunset which were well worth the ride up. The ride down was a blast and made for a great end to an overall fun ride.

Had a ton of fun on the downhill trail. There were two different trails for easy and moderate, made it easy for the less experienced rider that was with me to enjoy the trail as well. If you get a chance, for sure check out this trail.

Definitely a local favorite for a reason. Enjoyed the climb and down hill sections. Three fingers aren’t as scary as reviewed. Greatly enjoyed will be back soon.

Fun hike and very pretty. The description says, "Lightly trafficked," but we went on a Sunday at the end of December and there were a lot of people.

We really enjoyed this trail - we got a little turned around and started heading down the Whiterocks trail. We were happy to have done so, however, because we got to check out some beautiful tri-color petrified dunes (not to be confused with the Petrified Dunes trail). After getting back on the right trail, we passed a couple more lava tube openings. The trail itself wasn’t too heavily trafficked, but the lava tube openings were basically tourist traps, so we steered clear. There was a great offshoot to the Overlook rock formation. My five year old, who did this trail with us, waited in a cool sandstone cave about half way up with my mom, and my husband and I went to the top. That required a little scrambling, but nothing major and the views were worth it. Overall, the trail was pretty flat for the most part, but the rockiness made it difficult (or at least uncomfortable) to navigate at times. Snow Canyon was beautiful and this was a great way to enjoy some of its beauty.

This is kind of the route I took, based on a track recommended by one of the rangers in the visitor center. There are lots of route options. This is a spectacularly scenic state park and a great place to wander around. It is best to try to stay on the trails and not mess up the vegetation, but you can climb randomly all over the petrified dunes, and there were plenty of people doing that today, including an amazing number of small children. If you are trying to complete the loop shown here, it is not necessarily obvious how to pick up the trail coming down from the dunes, but I doubt you will get lost for very long.

The app claims I finished this trail, but it’s not exactly true. I did most of it. I’m also doubtful Scout Cave is on the trail because I saw the trail marker in a different area. I did see the turtle and arch. That was cool. It’s an exposed trail, so take a hat, sunscreen and plenty of water.

Short and fun!

5 stars for kids and photo buffs. Especially good for those who usually limit their viewing to the parking lot for whatever the reason. Great place for the folks from the East to take a selfie in a slot canyon to impress their Facebook friends One star for the experienced hard core hiker. We go here for pictures just about every time we come to the park after the “real” hikes.

Definitely worthy of its reputation of a difficult scenic ride. Go early as the trail can get busy after 10am.

Easy hiking on land, and only moderate challenge climbing into the tubes with kids. No gear needed, outside of a flashlight. Tubes are not long, so, while you should hike with extra batteries, we weren't at a loss without them.

Fun trail in the brisk morning.

I really enjoyed this trail. There are so many trails in the area, you can combine to customize the length. The loop is easy to follow if you use the map and your phone GPS. Recommend adding the Paradise Rim out and back to this loop.

Great hike good up and downs you can see forever lots of different views.

Loved this shorty hike. A must if you’ve never been in a slot canyon. Great for kids or older adults in just a few minutes you can get the slot canyon experience.

Hike was short but the weather couldn’t have been better. The first lava tube was more for the caving type, steep decent. I wouldn’t recommend for younger kids. Or an older person like me (60). The second tube on your right had an easier decent that almost anyone can navigate. It doesn’t go very deep but it will be fun for the younger kids and us old folks. Really hard to get lost in this cave. Sign at the entrance is good to follow. Perfect hike on a hot day. I’ve enjoyed this fun little hike for over 44 years. If your in them at dusk I’m guessing the bat population exiting will start your heart a pumping. Saw bat guano in both lava tubes.

Beautiful red rock, but you’re also in view and hearing of a major road almost the whole hike.

Easy, beautiful hike. 6 year old did fine on his own. Went beyond end where trail gets smaller. Pretty views.

Favorite hike in Saint George! Lots of breathtaking views, not too crowded, great rocks for bouldering, and just difficult enough to be interesting for experienced hikers. Bring plenty of water (most of the hike will be in the direct sun), and have your phone. The map provided on this app has been helpful a few times for zen trail (easy to lose the trail).

Not a bad hike, occasionally a little boring but I feel it’s more of a moderate hike than a hard one. Some very unique rock structures and a beautiful view at the top. Not a lot of shade, 2L or water is just about right. Lots of bikers.

The loose softball sized lava rocks were a pain in the butt on a bike. The scenery makes it worth doing, but if I do this trail again, I’ll leave the bike at home.

Pretty easy walking hike that’s great for just about every activity, dog friendly hike that has really cool huge boulders & some have been carved by the wind.

I wanted to use this hike as a running path but ended up finding it to be more of a walking trail. I’m sure others who are more skilled than me could have treated it as a running trail but I enjoyed the views and the simplicity of it. Great St. George views!
