I wanted to use this hike as a running path but ended up finding it to be more of a walking trail. I’m sure others who are more skilled than me could have treated it as a running trail but I enjoyed the views and the simplicity of it. Great St. George views!

This trail is a must hike in St. George! Love the terrain & scenery. Bring a reliable GPS with extra batteries. It is very easy to get off the trail. Bring extra water also. This is a must do hike!!

I enjoyed this hike. It is really exposed so it’s hot...make sure you bring lots of water.

Great morning hike. Beautiful views & close to home

We loved it!

Get out early. Love this trail . Great for mountain biking, hiking, jogging.

Short easy trail. Scrambling up the steep rock to the pioneer names is a blast! There are two points of entry onto the trail. The one where you can see the names from the road is shorter.

Ran this trail counter clockwise. Pretty technical, not a fast loop. There are some portions that are more runnable than others, but overall a ton of fun. Like some other reviews noted, the trail can be quite hard to follow in places, particularly where it crosses over solid rock. There are some cairns, but not enough to solely rely on them. But between the cairns, your sense of direction, the trail map on this app, and keeping an eye out for mountain bike tracks, you can mostly stay on the trail. Views are pretty great throughout. I ran it on a fairly overcast evening, about 90 degrees out. I went through 2 liters of water. Make sure you're carrying enough. There's very little shade.

We were visiting from Tucson.
My GPS showed 6.75 miles round trip from trailhead with just over 1000’ if climbing. This is a moderate trail, not really hard. Trailhead is just outside a housing subdivision. We went counterclockwise. The first and last mile are on a featureless road and uninspiring. The middle is an unbelievably beautiful landscape of rocks, boulders, ridges, and washes. I was really surprised at the beauty so close to town. Started at daybreak and met one other couple on a Sunday. Lots of evidence of MTB use. Relied on Trails map as rocky terrain sometimes hard to follow. Cairns help but network of trails caused us to get off-route twice.
Would highly recommend.

Easy. Cool respite in the late morning shade, with sun not quite overhead.

Did full section of trail shown + uphill section up to Snake Pit. This is a mountain biker paradise but for trail running gets a 3. Trails are great for bikes but not as great for running. The uphill portion on SW side back up to Snake Pit was much better for running. Went about a mile up Snake Pit and had great views of Beaver Dam Range. Only saw a few bikers on trail. Very hot day.. bring lots of liquids.

Did the full loop counter clockwise at Sunrise. Started at SE end of trail off access road coming up from one of the newer neighborhoods off Dixie. This trail offers great views of the area in all directions but does get harder to follow on the West - SW side going up through boulder fields before the descent. Lots of cairns to help mark the way in most cases. As already noted you also get an excellent look at the trail system in the valley to the South-SW. Giving it a 5 due to easy access and super views.

Good hike with beautiful scenery. Really best if you add an out and back along Paradise Rim and Scout Cave Trail...some of the best scenery looking into Snow Canyon from that route.

Nice hike for a view of the city below. Only saw 3 other people on the entire trail. Perhaps it was because we went at the hottest part of the day. (Not the smartest idea.) Easy hike along the rim.

Quick hike to see the names after some longer hiking in the park. As someone else said, a bit steep in the area of the names. Quick, easy hike.

This hike gave us a lot of different scenery through the park. Petrified dunes was awesome however we lost the trail at one point because the markers are too far apart. Still an amazing hike

Fun easy family hike. Great reward at end of reaching the cave. Awesome views.

I didn't go on any trails. Started at the North entrance and hiked through all the rocks and everything to the South entrance. Loved it.

Easy hike with the 3 & 6 year old. Beautiful view of the valley near the end.

Easy trail almost 1.5 miles. The only challenge are the steps other than that.... beautiful scenery!

More popular for mountain bikers to do the loop. Initial assent to the wall offers great views. I recommend hiking in and back (about half the total distance). Would rate hike as moderate - not hard.

I want to come back and ride my

I'm not sure how to make this a loop hike. We started at the Paradise Rim trailhead and hiked to Scout Cave and ended up coming out I believe at Johnson Canyon in Snow Canyon. Luckily, we had a family member to come pick us up to take us back to our car. Would love to do again and figure out how to make it a loop hike. The trail was beautiful from Paradise Rim to Scout Cave, lots of fun lookouts. Hiking out from Scout Cave you're hiking in a wash, nothing much to see from there. Would do again, but would like to figure out the loop.

Great trail! There were lots of hikers. We saw no bikers. The beginning of the trail was a thin trail with a cliff edge. It was quite a difficult ride in the beginning for our (4,6,9) year old boys. Lots of hiking/biking. After about 800 ft. The trail widened a bit, then it was wonderful. It was both challenging and fun. It was just perfect.

Great run from the edge of town. You’re on classic desert single track within minutes. Nice climb to a killer view.

Went for my morning run before sunrise. Did the first part with the headlamp. Nice overlook on the sleeping city.Easy trail. I did park at pioneer hills headtrail, crossed the road and joined this trail at the middle, did the loop and came back to the trail start, then came back to the parking along the red hills pkwy and run on the other side on pioneer hill trail, which is a dirt road with very nice views too. Could not run the whole trail and got lost once or twice. But google map helped me find my way back

We had great time on this trail. It was not too hard or too long just a nice hike. We took about two hours to do Scout Cave and Johnsons Arch.
